Not that I'm aware of. The £100 is instant.

I was wondering about this. The only thing that concerns me is that in their terms they state you need to close the bank account you're switching from and I don't want to do that. Does anyone know if you really need to do that?0

Since September 16 2013, all switcher services will close your old account.0 -

Only if you use the bank's new switching service that is, with the 7 day switching time.
A bank can still do a partial switch e.g. few direct debits/some credits & you can opt to keep your old account open, for those who just don't want to let go of the past. However you wouldn't get any incentives.0 -
my wife only have 1 DD from her account which she is switching from as nothing on the T&C state that you need 2 DD to qualify. its an online switch, not sure when they pay out or whether she will get the incentive or not.0

Absolutely no bank is advertising that they can do this - and I would seriously question whether their staff could distinguish between a complete and a partial switch.
Perhaps you can help by providing links to the respective websites where we are being offered partial switching? And what assurance / guarantee people will have that only a partial switch will be carried out?
If they did indeed offer partial switching - as you say, there is no incentive to get now, so you may as well do the partial switching yourself and be 100% sure that only those DDs you want to change do get changed. It's a complete doddle, after all - - - and with almost absolute certainty will be a lot less time-consuming than trying to explain to a bank that you just want some or your DDs moved. Moving your SOs yourself is certainly less time-consuming than asking a bank to do it.
If people don't understand what I am saying: all I can suggest is that you should spend some time to educate yourself about DDs and SOs, the switching services banks offer, and the ease at which you can change your DDs and SOs yourself. I am not just talking theory, I have changed lots of them myself and it is dead straight forward to do.0 -

What do you mean when you say "the account stops when it hits 0"?
Are you referring to their "classic account with control" that costs you £10 a month and comes with all sorts of restrictions? Have you checked the Halifax website for your requirements?0 -
Just checked both my accounts (with 2 DD switched) and my wife's (1 DD). Both has been credited with £100 each 2 days after the request of switch online. Happy days.0
