Funny enough I was about to order this http://www.petsathome.com/shop/simple-solution-urine-destroyer-106361

Will definitely order it now. I am so desparate for even some short term smell relief that I have emptied the entire contents of a Jeyes OUTDOOR WHEELIE BIN powder stuff I had :(

Have a look at the whole range, see what's most appropriate for your carpet. I've used the 'bog standard' version and the hard floor version while my rescue dogs were doing their best not to be house trained! I always keep a bottle in the cleaning cupboard for in case of illness or accident.

(I don't work for them btw! :rotfl:)

Am reluctant to change my carpets at the moment as feel her 'accidents' will happen again. I am not sure what my carpet is made of..........am sure its not wool but they were only put down in January and the living room carpet cost me £800
At that price it'll be wool and the chemical suggested would not be recommended. Try it on a scrap bit first. The enzymes in the product may cause the colours in the carpet to run....i.e it might fade or blend with other colors.

You could rent, or purchase if it's likely to be a long term problem, a carpet cleaner.

I already had a Vax multivax for cleaning my carpets before we got our puppy, but it's proved to be very handy the last couple of weeks. She only had a few accidents inside, and now seems to be house trained at 10 weeks :-) but it did a really good job of cleaning up after her no smells whatsoever, and she never went where she had gone before.

At the moment its getting a pretty good workout as there's nothing she likes to do more than dig outside in the rain, then walk the whole lot through the house, she's really lucky she's so cute.

I remember seeing a post on Hotukdeals recently about a Vax sale, so you may be able to get one cheap, they are also sold cheaply by makro from time to time, that's where we got ours, I think it was about £50 delivered.

Hope that helps, best of luck

steam clean several times and use rosemary and lavender oil which are great odour killers with dog smells.

I no longer have carpets having had dogs for years and an ex deciding it was clever to give Barney Boy a whole packet of liver sticks in one day............went right through him pour thing and killed the carpets beyond rescue.

one of mine managed to find and eat two big bags of midget gems. Luckily I had laminate down - might have looked like Angel Delight but it didn't smell like it :(

    This stuff also works

    Same brand, different stuff.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Rug doctor carpet shampoo, and the pre treatment range of stuff. Lots of the pre treatment stuff has the same ingredients, so pick up the ursine e
Imitator one and if the others are cheaper check the contents.

The only smell this hasn't worked with is very ancient tom Cat around a carpet I guesstimate to be 1970s at the front door. Tom cat smell is probably from then too. It only comes out now when it rains.

We got the shampoo when hiring a rug doctor and still use it for spot cleaning by hand, but the odour sprays before cleaning really are brilliant. As good as things that cost four or five times the amount from the vets, and much more easily available, usually beyond the tills in supermarkets or b and q.
  • +1 for Bicarbonate of Soda. We got a tub from a Chinese wholesaler the size of my head, and so had no qualms about dumping handfuls of it on (dried) affected areas, then hoovering up next morning. Certainly managed the smell!

I've got a Vax carpet cleaner as well and instead of carpet cleaning stuff I use this stuff http://mistralie.co.uk/products/odourfresh-pet-disinfectant-premium, the only smell it didn't get rid of was where my old cat who left me before I had the cleaner used to pee. You can also buy it on ebay.
  • heartbreaking when they get to that age. We've been using 1001 carpet cleaner. They have a special pet one but i've just been using the normal one with no problems.
  • Don't forget that it may have saoked through the carpet into the underlay and boards beneath and you're just cleaning off the top layer each time. Might be best to lift the whole thing and make sure you've got everything clean underneath.

    We have used

    http://www.shopwiki.co.uk/d/0/0/Four-Paws-Industrial-Super-Strength-Stain-%26-Odour-Remover-%28473ml%29

I'm not recommending any of these sites but the product was really good - you may be able to get it locally.
