can some one confirm that this actually does the job?
If you do this how do you then cancel your bulldog billing (just cancel DD)?
does this just return the line to BT ownership or does it fully cancel everything to do with bulldog?

    Thanks

    Lee

Assuming you are not tied to BD contractually, you can, as I did, "retunr to donor" (BT). Tied to BT for next 12 months though.
  • thanks for that. I am not tied to BD as I signed up in the very beginning on a 1 month notice.

Did you need to get involved with canceling the line with BD or did BT manage the whole thing? or does BT take your line rental and BD/pipex/tiscalli keep taking money for broadband until you cancel.

    Thanks

    Lee
  • BT managed the whole thing, ceasing both tel & BB at the same time. Went with o2 broadband

Even I am going through the same situation.. I have been with Bulldog for a very long time and now looking to switch to o2. I never had a BT line. I had to pay Bulldog £99 and get a line installed (which was done by a BT engineer anyway). Would I be able to just ring up Bulldog and get a MAC code and migrate to o2?

I remember some time ago.. My mate who had a Bulldog migrated to Sky quite easily.. The Sky sales guy in the shopping complex rang up BT and said we had a Bulldog line and wanted to go for BT and everything went smooth.. I don't know which department he spoke to. They gave him the number immediately (if I remember correctly) and the line was activated in a week's time. Maybe I should go find him again... :)

  • returning from bulldog to bt is free . if you have cancelled bulldog then return to bt is chargable (£124.99) i do work for bt and im seeing this more and more because sales cant place your order you need to speak to customer options at bt 0800800880 to arrange an llu transfer. the reason ( im sad to say) is the bt sales team cant do the order but want your sale so try to get you to take a new number and pay for a new line so they get the sale. dont do it. speak to custoer options and get a free transfer
  • thanks for the info!.
How long does it generally take for your broadband to stop once you have started the return to donor/llu transfer?

Basically trying to see how long I will be without broadband. (I hope to go to o2)

I actually went ahead and done it today.. Called BT, spoke to the Customer Options and everything went smooth. Pretty straight-forward.. They said they would take care of cancelling the Bulldog account and all that dogs**t! The transfer takes around 11 days and didn't cost me anything! I get to keep my number and was also offered free evening and weekend calls for £11.75 a month.. Great! Thanks lot for your help!

I can only place my o2 order after the transfer takes place and it takes 7 days after that. So will I have to live with no broadband for these 7 days? Or can I continue using my Bulldog broadband during this time? Thanks!

I called BT today and spoke to the customer options team. I asked about a return to donor, and they told me I would have to pay 125 pounds for my flat to be connected back to BT from bulldog, even though I have had BT here in the past (been with bulldog for 3 years now).
    Bummer.

I don't understand why some people they will connect for free and some not.
