Thanks everyone

It was crazy busy! We haven't totted up yet but definitely over £100.
I didn't buy anything either :A
Unfortunately because car boot sales are good for books and dvds, it explains a certain amount of my clutter
I try not to buy too much any more though as I've got so much to work through and get rid of.
A few ebay sales going through today so that's looking good, will get the relists done later.
I've just had a little rest in the sun with a book, was lovely! Little jwil is having a mammoth snooze after his car booting escapades this morning. DH is out on his bike, so I'm relishing the peace and quiet

Hi jwil,
Well done on your mammoth Ebay listings and car booting. You've done brilliantly!
I've cracked, though: there's just tooooooo much clutter for me to Ebay it etc. so I am getting rid of the vast majority of it and just keeping the bits that really might be worth something and I'm selling those instead. What I don't gain in money, I will gain in space, light and most importantly peace of mind as I can't stand it anymore!
Lots has gone yesterday/today with more due to go again tomorrow.

Well done, Jwil, £100 cleared at a car boot is an excellent result. And all the ebay sales as well - it's looking good. :T0 -

I know exactly what you're saying - I'm leaning towards this approach myself with a lot of stuff that I had considered car-booting. I just want the garage cleared of all those boxes of tat.
But I really must ebay some stuff this week.

Thanks everyone, it was a surprisingly good result, and we went through the remaining boxes that we'd taken and 3 big boxes of books are going to charity now :T
It's books, the dealers have been through them so we know they aren't bothered, some of them are a bit worn, so off they go. The charity shop we donate to can even get money from the tatty books, so they are happy to accept them whatever condition they are in.
We sold two huge job lots on ebay on Sunday (I messed up the postage again ) but have made money on them. It was essentially rubbish (to us) so very pleased. I'm not sure the PO was so impressed when I lugged 2 big boxes in (one was 19kg and the other 10kg)
But it feels good to be rid of all that, and it's also removed 2 big empty boxes which were being stored for packaging, so that's even more space.
After my bit of sorting this weekend, I'm actually starting to feel like we are finally getting somewhere. There's no doubt there's still a huge way to go, but I can see progress.
It's renewed my enthusiasm to keep going with it too, so I'm feeling pretty positive at the moment.
I'm going to try and get a few more bits listed on ebay today, and if I get a chance I want to sort through the boxes of stuff that we already have listed. I think if I repack things, it will make them easier to find, and I think I could empty a couple more boxes too, so that will leave more space."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
