Working well in an iPhone 4, can now tether using an Ovivo SIM which was no possible before.
That's interesting to hear. I've noticed that tethering has become less restricted in recent iOS versions, including with SIM cards of several carriers abroad which are not officially supported iPhone carriers. Presumably it also works with Giffgaff now too?

In IOS 7 there's a new personal hotspot APN option, so it does not default into the host carrier. Oddly, MMS must be set to Ovivo too before the Hotspot works.

It shouldn't even ring if you've blocked it. Do you have the number stored in correct international format starting +44. Although I don't think this is a requirement, it might help.

I've just checked the number on my phone and it's stored as a +44. Not sure what's going on there then.

Helping a colleague learn to use her smartphone (castoff from daughter!), I can make the IOS6 run on my 4, whereas figuring the IOS7 on her 4 "feels" complex...
But we may both be reactionary old stick-in-the-muds.

Once you discover the Control Center with swipe up from bottom, and adjusted the wallpaper, it's easier to use than IOS 6. The torch accessible from the lock screen is also... brilliant.

But the lack of any decent predictive text in IOS 7 is a massive lost opportunity that leaves Apple behind Android 2.3 when it comes to text input.

As an Ipad user I have not yet upgraded to IOS 7. Looking on the web and getting Google alerts about it , it seems there are many issues with it. Although I had the update placed on my Ipad I have no intention of installing it.

I think Apples marketing are assuming the number of downloads equals the number of installs which is not necessarily true especially when they did unsolicited downloads.

Looking at the press I am fully expecting yet another set of fixes/patches to be released in the next day or two.

I would be grateful for any comments from Ipad users on IOS 7 experiences .

Having worked in IT for years I find it very strange that you are not allowed to go back to IOS 6 if you don't like IOS 7.

I'm running IOS 7 on an iPad and three iPhones, and it seems fine.

Minor niggles in the styling (why is the music icon red, and the lack of texture on the buttons isn't that nice - the red power off strip reminds me of one of those little red plastic fish that curls up), but otherwise quite refreshing.

I'm not sure if you can download it and not install on a standalone device.
  • It will be interesting to see if update 7.0.3 appears on my Ipad after I next put it on charge. I note 7.0.2 has now disappeared off my Ipad after patiently waiting to be installed.

Apparently Apple do forced downloads when devices are put on charge which was how I got 7.0.2, at least it lets you decide whether or not to hit the install button.

I am waiting to see whether this update cures the motion sickness/nausea issues experienced by users as I certainly suffer from it in cars.
