Need some advise! My Husband took my Fiat Panda ActiveEco 1.1 for its first MOT Its only done 10.000miles & has been seviced & is like showroom!
Why didn't he get it MOT'd with the three year service? That's what I did a couple of weeks ago, got my MOT half price at the same time, if they had found anything none wear and tear the warranty would've covered it.0 -
some people do not understand how much it costs to set up & run a mot station.
MOT's cost £210 for 100 slots (£2.10 each) for every station, calibration of emissions machine about £180 every time. rollers, ramps all need servicing & calibrating, wages of tester & maybe an assistant all mounts up, so £35 per test, quite a few needed to just cover costs.
£20 for petrol cleaner is too damn expensive,0 -

One of the large windscreen companies were recently running a free MOT campaign valid for 13 months and transferable to another person. I honestly cringed at the ad as it's clear whats going to happen to all those mugs.
dont tar everyone with the same brush, my MOT centre charge £35 standard but dont do any repairs. 2 years in a row it has passed without the need for additional work to bulk up the price. the last one had an advisory and he didnt try to push me on to any garage - just told me to stay clear of halfords and the likes..0 -
It was only £20. Could have been far worse.
Consider that a lesson learned, and don't go back to Kwik fit.0 -
Local garage near me charge £40 for an MOT and they must be doing something right as a car rolls off another rolls onto the bay.
My only problem is I wish I used them again last year instead of chasing a £25 Kwik Fit MOT offer.0 -

We usually use a local guy who takes our cars for their MOT's but as this was the first one for my Panda we took advantage of the Special Offer at Kwik Fit for £30. I booked online & my Husband took it in on Tuesday! Shock Horror it failed on Emissions! My Husband is NO petrol head so was told by the staff that there was a minor leak of exhaust gases from exhaust! Then the guy said he would fill it???? My husband asked how much it would cost & he said £20. The guy then took the car for a run & retested & said i tpassed but he was removing the Advisory item (Exhaust leak) off the MOT form!
Now I feel Scammed!!! On the bill it stated I have been charged for BG44K Fuel Additive for £20 & no mention of a repair to the Exhaust! This sounds very fishy to me as I am sure Kwik Fit don't do anything for nothing!
Help!!! Have I been ripped off?
Dx

They wouldnt tell anyone that their BMW shouldnt have runflats on and refuse to let them leave until they replaced the tyres as a cost of hundreds of pounds meanwhile a little scroat is on his phone texting someone and just checking with the kwikfit staff member what size MY tyres are they they want me to remove would they??????
They wouldnt tell anyone that their shock absorbers are knackered when there isnt a thing wrong with them would they?????
I could go on and on about this group but all I will say is that thankfully not all branches are out to rip you off but quite a high percentage of them do try.0 -
Wow! Kwik fit have their net police on the case!
Lets hope they can resolve the OP's problem.
Perhaps they're actively trying to repair their terrible reputation on this and other forums?0
