I have the Lakeland airer you an buy it elsewhere but Lakeland customer service is second to none
I think my electric bill has risen in the year I've had it but it is so worth it
I also keep a sheet to put over the top to speed the process up

I've got the Lakeland airer, bought it a couple of years ago. One point is that I (and others - check reviews on Lakeland site) find it works much better if you don't dangle things over the rails, just lay the stuff flat on the tiers and, as mentioned above, cover with a sheet or duvet cover. It does fold flat, but the 3 tier one is still a bit bulky. There is a 2 tier one available as well, but it's one of those things I dithered about buying, and as soon as I bought it kicked myself for not buying it sooner. It does need a bit of ventilation, but I would have thought it would be perfect in a conservatory. I'm thinking about putting it in my greenhouse over the winter!
  • Thanks everyone - have just ordered one - I think it will be ideal especially as my kitchen is very cold so that bit of heat will help.
I ordered the 2 tier as my kitchen is very small.
  • I have the lakeland one and it's fab. We have washer dryer as no room for tumble dry and it was so much hassle in the winter waiting for washing to finish to empty half then dry then do the other half. Took an eternity to get washing done.

Bought this and never looked back. I too put a sheet over to speed up drying.
Goal - We want to be mortgages free :j

But doing that reduces the drying area? Which makes me think I'd be better off draping stuff over my radiators :o

Lakeland airer may be switched on overnight, so it is cheaper to use, if you are on Economy 7 tariff (like me)

Just got mine and tried it out over the weekend. I don't think I am that impressed. I will try a sheet next time - could be because my kitchen is so cold?

I've literally just bought one of the Aldi ones this afternoon, just testing it works ok with a couple of tops. Got it for bedding mainly though.
Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.
