  • sorry to hijack but i have also been considering these items!!

a friend of mine swears by the dribuddy thing and says she couldnt live without it.

i think i am going to go for the lakeland heated airer - although i do have a question:

if i stood a normal airer next to a radiator - would it not have the same effect?
  • Sunflower - I think it's good to all get involved in a thread like this, because the questions you and I ask will inform other people with the same questions about this.

I suppose I am falling on the side of the Lakeland Airer when I found it was 300W against Dri Buddy 1200W so less expensive per hour. I don't know how it would work if I put a normal airer next to a radiator but my radiators aren't on that long. I have the central heating on above 19C for an hour and a half in the morning and an hour at night (I think - I may need to check). The rest of the time I just heat the room we are in, and the layout of the house means that the airer would be in a cold room.

If you have the radiators on for longer then I suppose it would be almost as good as the heat would be just as gentle but not as close and more distributed. I think it also depends on how dry the house is, and ventilation.

I think there's a lot of science in this, and I'm not really up to it. :o

I'll be watching the condensation like a hawk, but otherwise the Lakeland Airer does look the best, by a small margin.
Condensation is a problem with radiators anyway, I'd rather contain it and ventilate the one room than have dampness throughout the house.
I think it is quite a fragile thing, but I'm careful with it and when their customer service is so good, what's to lose ? I love mine......
That has swayed it for me. No more agonising over drying in the winter.....

I have just ordered the Lakeland airer too. If ordering don't forget the code for £50 worth of wine from Naked Wines...if you usually buy wine or want to stock up for xmas it knocks the price of the airer down!!

Argos has the dri buddy reduced with 25% off if anyone is interested, it is now down to £44.97 instead of £59.99.

I am convinced too. Have just tried to buy one but (naturally) I want the free wine although the Naked Wine site keeps saying the code is wrong? Am I doing something wrong.

I think you get the voucher code with the item so unless you have received it I am not sure what code you are using. The code on the site is just for the voucher to be added to the order.

Do be careful with the Naked Wines offer - you need to watch very carefully when you're making your order as they sign you up to make a monthly payment into their wine club as an 'Angel'. It's really not obvious that you're signing up to this and I know a couple of people who've been caught out.
