Support Group £127 ?

Okay I need to clarify! I got the letter through of which explains the group placement chosen (the one with two tick boxes, Support Group being the one ticked) and was told a letter would be sent out in the following days with the new rate. For some reason the next day, I was phoned up from the benefit centre and told the same and the lady on the phone also told me what the new rate would be. I'm pretty sure she said £127 which will be paid from the 27th September. I can't say I'm 100% positive, it may be the autism screwing something up along the way (also have memory loss due to Bipolar and Generalized Anxiety Disorder and therefore confusion), yet I'm still pretty certain the figure was £127.
I'll let you know when/if that letter arrives. Who knows? Maybe even the phone call was an hallucination
I am being facetious, of course. Forgive me!
Thank youuuu!0 -
Not a problem. Wait for the paperwork and or the money to arrive in yur bank account and then you will know. But I think it will be the £121.65 myself. As that is the amount that matches your circumstances.0

I wouldn't be surprised if you're right0 -

You're spot on. Only the first payment will be £127 as I am owed due to the dates. Something like that
There's the cause of the confusion!0 -

Sorry to latch on to someone elses page, but not computer literate, please move me to where i am meant to be.I need advice, for past 4 years been getting income support due to illness,(£101 a week) .I filled in atos form , and returned it to them by their deadline date 4th august.Today recieved a letter from jobcentre plus to say i have been put in the income related support group, due to the nature of my illness, and from 13 november i will recieve £121.65 a week.I happy with this , but dont understand why it dosnt start for 3 more weeks, when atos sent their report several weeks ago, can anyone advise me whether this is correct please. It also says we will pay your previous benefit up to the day your entitlement to esa starts , so no rebate?0

Basically - you are being put onto the income related version of ESA because you were on Income Support and DWP have with the help of ATOS decided that you should be in the Support group. The basic amount of that is £106.50/ week, but you are also getting Enhanced Disability premium of £15.15/week on top which makes up the £121.65 total. There may be a backdated amount due of the EDP from when you were on IS. Wait for the paperwork to arrive then ask. If you are due the EDP - normally paid in conjunction with DLA and when you are on an income related benefit, then they may owe you upto 4 years. I do not know whether I am correct or not, someone else may know the right answer.0

Thankyou for your reply horseunderwater, you mentioned that i would be getting £15 for a disability premium, i am not disabled , i am ill, and do not claim dla, should i contact jobcentre and tell them i am not entitled to this premium.0

Quick update, phoned jobcentre plus today and i am entitled to the edp premium in my esa , despite not recieving dla , as i am in the support group. With regards to backdating , they said there wouldnt be one as i have been migrated from income support, and she couldnt explain why my esa is not starting untill 3 weeks time, but comfirmed i will carry on getting income support untill that date. She also told me she couldnt say one way or another how long my award is for, so im still not totally happy, but relieved for now.0

Standard procedure, once the decision has been made a date for swapover is set and is always about 3 - 4 weeks after the decision date.
Had you been found fit for work and not entitled to ESA the same would apply, .... i.e. even though you are fit for work your Income Supprt would continue to pay you for a further 3 - 4 weeks
So it works both ways for people:
some people win a few more weeks and then get nothing,
some people wait a few more weeks and then get exactly the same amount.
some people wait a few more weeks and then get an increase in amount.
You can only have the EDP on ESA so you won't be owed any arrears.0
