reading s38(1) it looks like it will allow me to buy a deactivated Uzi or Kalashnikov but not a silver cap gun.
or have I missed something?
If it looks like a real firearm that you could potentially threaten someone then you can be charged with having an offensive weapon, this is why cap guns/BB guns must be coloured.
personally i think the wrong thing was done when they banned handguns in the UK as now they have no idea how many are still in the UK or who has them, when at least when they were licenced they had some control and knew where a majority of them were.0 -

I was brought up around guns. Had air rifles as a young lad.
Its sad that people are scared of guns. An air rifle is far more powerful than the spring operated guns that fire the yellow balls.
NEVER had any issues or shot at anything that i shouldn't have. Nor aimed a gun at someone.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Is it legal to own a black BB gun? Just illegal to sell one?~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Any more posts you want to make on something you obviously know very little about?"
Is an actual reaction to my posts, so please don't rely on anything I say.0 -

BB and toy guns must be coloured, but you can still legally buy air pistols that are very similar to true firearms.
This one for example (about £300) would look realistic enough to scare many people and it can be purchased by anyone over 18 years old.
or only £130 for this0 -

maybe, but not everyone is as careful. one of my wholesalers has a full range of BB guns. I could pick up a AK-47 style BB gun which is air powered and not spring powered.
I won t even stock the cheap £1/£2 BB guns. even though for the last 3 years BB guns have been cheaper to buy wholesale than cap guns.0 -
