All a bit dull here really..!!
Middle of the week and middle of the month.. well nearly..!!
Diet still not got going, will definately try again Monday with that one..! I am determined that this extra stone is not coming on my summer holiday with me and I would rather like to not take more than 7lbs of it on the city break with lovely mother in March!!
Positives for today.... well its not snowing...!
Unfotunately it is forecast to be wet and windy tonight and if there is one thing I hate more than driving in the dark its driving in the dark and rain..!! I can't get out of going out as dd is working and OH isn't here so its mum taxi ..... Will be glad when its 9.30 and we are all home again...!
Going to dinner with SIL and nieces so that should be nice and no cooking for me..
One poll up to £27.95.. slowly, slowly...... No movement on ipsos...
Bank account hanging on in there in credit with £9.05.....
Having to resort to using christmas money for everyday stuff... never mind I didn't have any specific plans for it.. although I would like a new shower curtain. get me.. :rotfl:
Must talk to OH tomorrow about dd's next payment for her big 2016 trip.. the next installment is due on 1st feb and its just under £700.... am hoping he has got a cash stash as it was his idea that she went...!!!!
That's about all my rambling for today...

So last night went **ts up and I didn't end up having dinner with relatives...
On the positive I dropped dd at work and then went and did 2 evening visits before collecting her again..:D I also bought some reduced 'fresh' fish fingers and had a lovely fish finger sandwich at 10pm last night for my tea....
The weather was also kind to me and I just had dark and drizzle to drive in rather than heavy rain... very windy mind...!!!
Today I have appointments and tomorrow office in the morning and then I have the afternoon booked off.. - housework/grocery shopping...
OH home tonight so we can discuss the dd big trip next payment....
Back later..

:jIts Friday... and the weekend started for me at lunchtime....
So the positives...
OH has the money for dd's big trip next payment....:D
He also wasn't working today so he had a lie in and will do the dd morning work run tomorrow so I don't have to run around early:D
So this morning I was in the office, everybody was in a good mood as it was friday, I actually enjoyed it..!! Also I spoke to my big boss about mobile phone's as I've given my personal one to dd temporarily as her's is broken and I can't get a free upgrade until middle of next month.. So I've been using my work one for personal texts etc.. Boss says no worries.. so that's good..:D
Just been and done the grocery shopping, OH suppose to be bringing me some cash in this afternoon......
Money News..
3 months ago Scottish Power decided I was paying to much so reduced my dd from £131 to £91.. now I was in credit as that is how I like to enter the winter months and I knew that £91 was not going to be high enough so I have been saving the £40 each month in a seperate account... needless to say when I did the meter readings (which I do every 10 days ish..) they upped my next payment to £128... so I still have the £120 I have saved if I need to pay extra and it won't make any difference to my monthly budget as I hadn't been spending it anyway..
Now BT.. get my bill.. I pay a dd monthly.. last bill I was £11.75 in credit this bill I was £7.58 in debit and they want to increase my monthly dd from £26.50 to £34.50:eek: Now hold your horses.. that maths doesn't add up.. I was given the option of paying the debit off and my monthly dd's going up a £1 so that is what I have done... We don't even use the phone much but I have been speaking to lovely mother every day and she does like a chat.. I must try and do some of the calls from my mobile with free minutes.. she also has evening free calls so will get her to ring me back and see if we can get this down again...
Also got a complaint in with my bb provider who thoughtfully upped my monthly dd from £10.31 to £15.31 without even telling me.. Now I've been with them for over 10 years and don't generally have any problems hence why I haven't switched to anyone else but the cheek of it.. so a complaint is in and I shall await a reply...
So what a lot of waffle...!!
And I bought a shower curtain... £5...
Off to collect dd shortly and then a few running around jobs for me.. OH is out tonight so a half price pizza and bottle of wine in front of the tv is scheduled...
Hope you all have a good weekend...

Scottish Power have done the same with us, I'm like you, I prefer to be in credit in the Winter months so that I'm not worrying about having the heating on. I have also been putting the extra money aside...looks like this budgeting malarkey is rubbing off on all of us;)

Hi Ellie,
Glad I'm not alone in my thinking with regards to the heating bills!!! I know we pay far more a month than many SOA's I've seen on here but we do live in a big'ish house with a tropical fishtank, a teenager... and horrible halogen type lights which will get changed eventually... also I run 2 fridges and 2 freezers and do washing most days.. and tumble probably once a week....
I do wonder how people who switch utility providers because they 'charge less' each month survive when the cold weather hits.. I've swapped in the past and its never made my bills any cheaper in the long run..!

So OH got up and did the dd run this morning.. meanwhile I have done 2 loads of washing, cleaned the bathroom.. hung my new shower curtain.. sorted dd's room as she has a friend over tonight... defrosted my tiny freezer in the fridge.. it doesn't have a door so needs doing regularly... I got OH to hoover and now I'm having a sit down...
My broadband provider rang last night to confirm new monthly dd will be £15.31 but for good will they will reduce it to £13.31... umm.. no thanks they are not offering me anything worth paying more for.. so I said I will be leaving. she then offered me half price for 3 months no contract.. but that's half of the new price so only a paltry saving of about £9... so I think I will investigate BT as they have some good offers on at the minute and I can get quicker BB with them...
Nothing else to report.. OH is off to footie and pub so I'm home alone.. well teenagers upstairs tonight.... I'm sure I will find suitable drivel to watch on tv..
DD has also asked if I could hunt around for any other pt jobs available as she isn't very keen working where she does but does like the money.. I said I would look but it won't be instant.. her decision as she doesn't have to work but I do think its good for youngsters and she's very lucky she's got a job, most of her friends haven't found one yet..
Right off to do some surveys/comping/job hunting etc..

I thought my pennies were safe this weekend as I had no plans to go into town as I don't need anything, but dd has just informed me that she is off out with her friend and this will involve lunch and my oyster card..... oh well shouldn't be more than £20 with some change I hope..!
I am off to visit relatives and get cuddle time with nieces.. OH has gone swimming, then pub.. a bit counter productive I think....!! He is hoping to win some more of the huge lamb chops from the meat raffle again.. and then he's watching the footie and home for tea.. I shall be home after being mum taxi and do the ironing and to cook the tea.. not a very balanced household ours...!!!
Never mind, we bob along alright and for now that's the way it will stay..
Lovely mother should overlap down at relatives so I can have a look at her as her funny voice is back... I don't like the fact that she's been ill on and off since christmas...
Back later..

Hi Puzz,
We have a similar household, hubby was off golfing all morning with a tipple at the pub afterwards, while i did the washing, Cooking dinner, making a cake, sorting kids etc etc.
It all reads exactly what I didn't want to eventually happen with my life, but somehow it seems to work for us. I get my down time during the week and hubby has his down time on a Sunday. evens out in the end I think.
You sound very under control and organised. hope you had a lovely day xxx0 -
