I tried to do that a couple of Christmases ago using top notch stuff -organic eggs, Farm butter(even made my own a lot of the time, top of the range vine fruits, etc all gogod stuff. Scottish butter in the Dundee cake. But sadly people like the idea of cakes with "good stuff" in them they do not however, like paying for them:eek:
People are tight wads... especially us here on MSE!Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.0 -

You lot of friends could have had it for free with pleasure.Blind as you run...aware you were staring at the sun.
And when no hope was left inside on that starry starry night.

Lenny!!!!!!!

Oh, that's cheered me RIGHT up!!
Having a bit of a sh!te day. Been pushed out of promotion at work (they've decided to grade it two grades above me, so I can't apply); my landlord's in fitting a new bathroom suite, but he's such a cowboy that I'm preparing myself to be showerless for daaaays; and my lovely flatmate's been told today of his job offer if he decides to relocate to Hull. Haven't heard from him (have texted), but he's gone back to his parent's to polish his boy-racer car ready for boys' weekend in Le Mans (is that how you spell it? Some French racing gig anyway).
Have been stomping around the house all evening, and numerous cups of tea & handfuls of chocolate covered peanuts haven't helped lift my mood, but now here you are!!!!!
What a smashing end to a sh!tty day :T :T :T£27k (excluding interest) paid off in 29 months

Hi Su Su, sorry about the promotion. Talk about moving the goalposts after the ball has been kicked. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Hi Su Su, sorry about the promotion. Talk about moving the goalposts after the ball has been kicked.
Yeah, the b*ggers. I've been completed open with them for the last 12 months that I want that position (it's a new position, will be advertised internally in Jan 08). I'm even doing a Marketing course at college to get better qualified to do the job. Then they go & tell me that it's out of reach  Oh well, they're paying for the course, the books, the mileage... I'll still get my qualification and I've already started making contacts to move into another department. I work for a BIG company (4,500 people at our site alone), so it shouldn't be a problem. It's just difficult now that my working relationship with the manager has changed.
Oh, stuff em!! I'm here to have fun with my virtual pals, not whinge about work (I do that 9-5!)
Forgot to say earlier (in the excitement of seeing Lenny!) that I, too, had an anniversary this week. It was 23 years ago on Monday, at around 3.45pm, that I got run over by a motorbike and broke my leg!!! :rotfl:£27k (excluding interest) paid off in 29 months
