I actually bought that mobius camera from the techmoan video; works well, but the novelty quickly wears off and you forget to use it.
The Mobius I have starts automatically when I switch on the ignition and switches off when I switch off. There is nothing to remember or forget.
Look at the link I posted above, it clearly shows this feature.0 -
Police are not interested unless serious injury is involved.0

A dashcam will only switch on and off automatically if the car's 12V supply switches on and off with the ignition. Not all do.
You also have to consider whether having the camera permanently on display would increase the risk of someone breaking into your car (to steal it). So some people may choose to put it away when they park and so could lead to it being forgotten.
If it wasn't for these reasons I'd have bought one by now.0 -
I will await the time in the future it will be a standard safety fitting in cars
Maybe 5 years hence?0 -
You must watch the Techmoan vid.
The Mobious is so small that it hides next to my rear view mirror and I defy anyone to spot it.
Only powered by one wire which is discretly pushed under the windscreen trim etc..
We have been rammed and sideswiped in the last four years and although the forward facing camera wouldn't have captured the accidents, it would have recorded our position and movement on the road together with the jolts.
If the witnesses behind us had one then maybe the cases would have been resolved more quickly.0 -

We leave the majority of non injury RTCs to the insurance companies to apportion blame and cost unless there is an obvious case of dangerous driving or some sort of vehicle defect/insurance/alcohol problem. In other cases there are no independent witnesses who are willing or able to come forward for many accidents so the police have to work with statements from both drivers, so it comes down to one word against another which leads to no further action in most cases.0 -

Yes.
Although it is slightly more discrete than the larger variety, it is still too easy to spot, and I quite like having glass in the side window on my way to work in the morningsI want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)

A forward facing camera that is an integral part of the rear-view mirror would remove the theft concern though, which would be good. It might be possible for a rear-facing camera to double up as a parking aid too...0 -
I came across the reference to policewitness and wanted to post some positive stories about them. I am a driving instructor and use a dash cam to record my journeys and that of my pupils lessons. I have captured several episodes of dangerous driving and because I got my roadhawk from policewitness my membership was included. They deal with all the clips I send them and then the police liaise with me, 2 episodes have resulted in a driver going on a driver retraining programme and the other was issued with a section 59. I also get other benefits so they have worked for me and save me the hassle of queuing at a police station.0
