Well that's funny how out of all the raw feeders I know who give garlic daily and have done for years and years, not one dog has been harmed.

How do you know? It's incremental dammage and can cause a variety of problems, also what happens if your dog is in an accident and the vet can't control the beeding becasue you have been poisoning it? I know one person who does it and her dog is covered in flea bites (I have to wash with neem soap before I visit her house).

  • My butcher didn't have any liver but gave me a kidney instead. Do I do the same as if it were liver? I want to use it for training so would like it good and dry to stick in my pocket but nice and smelly also!

Then she's not doing it correctly :rotfl:
My own vet who I trust more than most also rubbished that garlic ( in a small amount) is dangerous. Wish more would follow suit, same with the vaccinations, more honesty is needed.

Gave cooked liver to both our Staffies at least once a week without any problems, one reached 16 and her daughter 15. We always cooked it in the oven first and made sure it wasn't overcooked. The problem we found was that it made them a little loose with plenty of wind, there again our present rescue Staffie rarely gets liver and she poops to high heaven.

I buy my two sliced liver, I simply dry fry it on the hob til it goes brown and there is no blood.

I never buy kidneys now, oh the smell when they cook  Never again!
Can't think of anything smart to put here...
  • I had stuff in the oven anyway, so bunged the kidney in, chopped up. I did it at the temp I had other stuff in for for about 15 minutes and then a good hour down low. Funny you should say about the smell, there were dark mutterings from my husband about it, he said it smelt like a nursing home?!! I am getting the cold so I am entirely oblivious. Left it to cool whilst we were all out and about and have literally just chopped it up a little more and put in a Tupperware dish. Holy moly but the effect it had on scampers, to say he was ready, willing and able would be a gross understatement. This is after he had had a good hour with my husband around my daughters schools deserted hockey pitches whilst her and I went to a school meeting!

No it just does not work. Your dogs probably don't have fleas because they have not been near another dog with fleas. My GSD never had fleas in 13 years and never got treated or given garlic, he just never came into contact with them.

Perhaps my current dog hasn't come into contact with them yet but my previous one certainly did, as a stray we took in was full of them. If it didn't work people would not use that method.

lol people used to think not washing protected them from the plague too. correlation is not causation,
