You'd need a second feed from the dish if you wanted to use the full functionality of the box, i.e. Record one channel whilst watch another.0

You would need 2 feeds to the box so you may need an engineer if you could not do that yourself. It's fairly easy if you have the right tools.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Oh i wouldn't have a clue how to do that lol0

Just rang sky and they said it would £260 to install a sky plus box :eek:0

Sounds about right for Sky. Probably a local engineer will charge a lot less.0

It's ridiculous. I might get a quote from a local engineer instead!0

Always advisable when multi-room is installed to ask for 2 cables from the dish.
I think many installers do it as standard now.
If installer is nice (or you ask) he will also fit the sockets to make it ready to plug in to a HD+ box that you can pick up on ebay.0 -

Sky only supply HD boxes nowadays and will not install second hand or new boxes that you supply (except for moving house installs). Depending on your location and how difficult the installation of cabling is an independant installer will charge upwards of £40 plus cost of a new dish and lnb if your present ones are in poor condition. Prices in London or the SE will be considerably higher.
I recently had a brand new dish installed when i got my new sky plus hd box so i wouldn't need a new dish.0 -
Karen the likely chance you have got of getting this on the cheap is to subscribe to a 2nd multi-room. Then get your installation totally re-done and ask for what you want.
Or if you are more sneaky you need them to come out and fix a fault while under warranty and do you a favour while they are out.
I am not advising you to damage your current cable of course.0
