I'm looking for a property, have been for a while. My daughter has just bought, my nephew wants to buy.
We are at different price points ...... whatever comes on goes Under Offer within hours, then SOLD STC a couple of weeks later.
We are in Hampshire ..... is it on fire where you are?
If it has yet to hit your area and you are hesitating, get in right now before your market leaves you too.

Sure.
Why not keep house price ramping posts in the debate forum where they belong?0 -
Property bubbles are a disaster.
Look at Ireland and the insolvency and mortgage arrears crisis there as a result of bubble frenzy.0 -

They are a disaster!
They serve no purpose .... but it's happening where I am, that's my observation.
I want to buy by the sea - that market recovered this spring.
Yes, the North is about to feel the heat, it usually happens a while after the South has engaged and over heated.
It seems there is either a bubble or nothing sells ..... why is there no middle ground?Bringing Happiness where there is Gloom!0 -
We're in Kent and have noticed a similar trend, we actually lost out on six houses prior to having an offer accepted. I don't believe we were offering too low - the last property we actually offered well above asking price and were still outbid. That property went on the market and was sold within four days. The previous two properties before that both sold within five days. Not enough stock and too many buyers the estate agent said. That might just be due to us looking for a popular area though.0

Interestingly in my area where the market has been and maybe still is overheated, at least two properties that 'sold' instantly a few months ago are now back on the market.0

A cracking bungalow came on the market last Saturday which I really wanted to go after. It was on for £375,000 ...... I thought I would have time to wander around and mull it over.
It has been SOLD STC .... not Under Offer, SOLD to a cash buyer just like me - but one who was more willing than I to get a move on and jump in.
I hate it when it gets this overheated, OK for selling but damned awful when looking for a holiday home as I am

I'm in surrey
Loads of for sale signs round here that very quickly (within a week or two usually) become sold signs
4 in my street alone have sold in last two months for full asking price0 -
the point they were making is there is a separate board to debate house price movements.
This board is for specific questions not generalisations, you should debate your market view on the board where its name gives a rather big clue: DEBATE house prices & the economy board...
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=149
that way the generalisations and your learned opinions / observations do not clutter up this board for people with other types of real problems who need help0
