Suggestions to prevent cats doing business around HA properties?

move to a private rental, it's a well known fact that cats are naturally selective about going all over the lower orders in HA and council housing, but not those in private housing0

it never ceases to amaze me that dog owners get fined if they do not "pick it up" and dispose of it in the green bins while cat owners can let their cats not only do their toilet anywhere but can dig up peoples gardens and plants in the process , pets are a wonderful thing ,
its the owners that should be shot,
no point talking to cat owners they think its OK, to them its you being unreasonable ,
pepper dust from the pet shop seems to have worked on my small patch of soil , its not expensive but depends on the size of the area0 -
It never ceases to amaze me why people think cats can be contained like dogs, apart from putting them into an escape proof cage how would one expect a cat owner to contain their cat and prevent then doing as they please , cats are very agile , excellent climbers and its almost impossible to make an escape proof garden they can also be totally independent from their owners should they so choose and there are of course innumerable feral cats in most areas. I know its unpleasant and I do sympathise but containing cats is almost an impossible task and as they aren't licensed there is no law that can be broken.#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

The law recognises that cats can't be controlled like dogs that's why there is legislation protecting them. If you're too thick to understand that then you've got a problem. It's like asking for a law to stop it raining because it's inconvenient to you.0

gosh people do get personal on here don't they
kind of proves my point about some cat owners
what has laws got to do with being a responsible pet owner ?
my sons both have cats and they do their toilet in a cat litter
both cats are house cats and when they go out they are taken on a cat lead , I also have family come to stay with me who bring their cats and again take them out on a lead
are cat owners not worried about the beloved pets getting run over ,0 -

Nothing personal, just blunt. The law is the law.
Our cats are outdoor cats, so it is important to us.0 -
What a convenient pet for anyone who wants the 'cute and cuddly' but not the responsibility that should come with it
I would be more worried about them coming to harm , not only being run over but people throwing stones at them (I have seen this quite often)
them getting stolen or even worse , as some have mentioned on here
by the way I love cats so am not in the shoot em camp0 -
