including housing benefit I get 1020 a month. My rent and food add upto 700 so thats 320 left not 525??
Gas and electric is 148 so leaves 172 for water tv licence internet and essentials for the month including clothes ect...

    But I don't think that's right,

You should get £950 a month PLUS your HB and CTB.

    Have you checked your entitlement?

    Something seems wrong.

I havnt said that she needs a duvet my daughter is happy woth blankets as mote comfy for her. I have said she needs a new bed!!
Who are you to judge what I have to sell on ebay???
You are really upsetting me and ide love to be one of those people with a job!!!

You said that she she does not have a warm enough duvet only a summer one, you never said but that is okay because she has blankets.
I am not judging what you sell on Ebay, I am just saying that there is a limit to how much stuff you have to sell.
I fail to see how I am upsetting, unless something I have said is wrong. Some people with a job are not as well off as you.
  • But she should be getting far more than the £175 a week. She needs to check her entitlement as I work it out at £115 CTC, £33.70 CB, 71.70 IS, so £220 per week, not £175.

£220 per week after rent and council tax, that is actually quite good.
Maybe her Housing benefit does not cover her rent as she has a bigger or better house than housing benefit allows for.

I agree with princessdon's calculations - are you receiving what she has said?

I don't think you are, unless you are paying back huge overpayments, or have shared care (only 1 child living with you), then you should get a lot more.

  • In that case you 100% cannot budget and need to sort it out.

I am out of this thread now as people do not like the truth

It comes across that you are trying to hide something. It is difficult to help when you are only giving half the story. Perhaps it would be more productive to post a statement of affairs on the Debtfree Wannabe board and get some help with your budgeting?

Look either you have only 1 child to provide for and so your costs are way too high or they are taking unfair overpayments.

If its the second then you need to contact them, as its too high a deduction on your income.
