More casual gamers amongst women than men

I found this interesting and I am not really surprised to see it, barely any men I know play casually but I am constantly seeing girls playing the likes of candy crush and angry birds.

What do you think?

I've heard many people are into candy crush and angry birds, tbh I only play games like The Simpsons tapped out, Mass Effect infiltrator and Dead Space on my iPad/iPod touch and not very often these days tbh, much rather play on PC or console (I'm a girl, and know many woman with similar views both in RL and on gaming websites). I do have bejewelled on there (is that like candy crush? It looks similar in ads) but don't play it much.

I think it's probably no different to people sitting on trains etc doing crosswords or puzzles in the paper, it's a time filler and keeps you occupied. So long as it isn't keeping you from your actual work it's fine.

I'm not surprised to hear this - we girls don't have the spare time to play as many video games as men what with making all those sandwiches!

Plus, it's way easier to game on my phone than a console from the kitchen.

This makes me feel a little sad there is the perception is that "us girls" couldn't even make time to play proper, real games if we really wanted to, so therefore settle for playing little mobile apps .

I am a girl (though mature :cool: ) and I play my games on a PC. The big ones like Skyrim, Dishonored, Far Cry, Battlefield, Call of Duty etc, and I damn well make the time to play them. If you prefer to slave unnecessarily in the kitchen (men can cook!) or fill your spare time with other things then that is your choice.

I love a girl who can game, or be a science geek without all the societal prejudices...maybe you and me can get together one day in BF3 so I can shoot you in the head

And I can cook too! Though I much prefer baking.

I don't really class mobile apps as gaming.. but then I'm into games like skyrim/cod/fallout etc. I have played candy crush but that's just something that you only need a few minutes to play, not sure its something you can play for a whole evening!

I think if you're classing Candy Crush et al as 'gaming' then I think there would be more women than men playing these types of games. This is pretty much how it is on my FB friends list.

Though I don't know many "HC" gamer girls and the Amazon Xbox Forum only has a token one.
