oh...and where the Met Police drove around in [white] unmarked Sunbeam Tigers [V8]...could be easily spotted as in those days, all Met police officers were expected to be of a burly, large, nature....thus if one spotted a Tiger bursting at its seams, it was an unmarked car....

Memories. At least you knew where they were. Now they try to play a totally unfair game of cat and mouse.

Mind you they do give the game away on a motorway or dual carriageway. How many high performance BMW's do you see trundling along at 60mph in the nearside lane? 10 to 1 that they are in an unmarked car.

I like it!!! Just hold your ground and he had no where else to go except the bollard!! However I have had them do this to me and then 'squeeze' me off the road onto the pavement.

I do not normally drive like this, just that as he came up alongside not indicating with the bloody great trailer in tow I thought to myself "On the offchance he is not turning right, if I take off normally he is going to pull across onto me and I will be toast! " So I wellied it.

Are you really proud to admit that you would intentionally drive in such a way that you would purposely ensure that another vehicle was left in the way of oncoming traffic?

With that one sentence you have neatly summed up why so many people who are in possession of a driving licence should have it revoked before they end up causing an accident that kills someone.

    Hell, why not?

Plenty of novice drivers would do that without realising.....:D:D
No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......

Nevermind people being slow about pulling away from lights, the ones that make me laugh are the 'inchers.' We watched a beamer inch his way through the lights so much so that he was smack bang on the pedestrian crossing. He was so far forward he didn't realise the lights had gone green and everyone on the left undertook him.

He was planning on blasting past the left and shoving in, but instead ended up about 6 cars further back then where he started. Does make me laugh!

I normally wait until green THEN put it into drive and move off at a steady progressive speed
This is wrong as in my previous post, you're meant to prepare to go at amber, and go at green.

you're meant to prepare to go at amber, and go at green.

Only..if it is safe & clear to do so. The road isn't 'yours' at that point.

Red & Amber still means 'stop'....
