Haven't you got anything better to do?
How about finding some examples to add to the list instead of self righteous nit picking. Your rebuttal up thread is comedy gold.'We don't need to be smarter than the rest; we need to be more disciplined than the rest.' - WB0 -
sorry if its already been mentioned but I now boycott Tropicana OJ or Apple Juice fresh pressed, used to be 1l bottles and have steadily shrunk to 900ml then Ive seen 750ml bottles- as the same price/offers that you used to buy the 1l bottle for.
Their loss, I don't buy it anymore0 -

Tesco were selling bags of oranges for £1 the SEL also said 20p each
I managed to persuade the staff to sell me a bag for 80p because there were only 4 in the bag.
Sounds like a proper bargain, 4 apples for 80p instead of 5 for £10 -

Obviously you can only read half a sentence, do you not know comma are to tell you to pause, not stop reading altogether.
My original statement still stands, people don't really care about the percentage, they are more interested in the amount of money it has gone up by.
If they were interested they would post the percentage increase. Even if they can't work it out in their heads, the vast majority are reading this forum on an electronic gadget that has a built in calculator.0 -
unsubscribed, this thread is just getting boring with people arguing instead of discussing the topic, pity because to me it was one of the most useful threads on this board.0

So concerned that it wasn't even mentioned, money is not the be all and end all.
I can't calculate percentages in my head, I use a calculator even so there are so many percentage calculations which I see here and elsewhere which are incorrect
Tell me, without percentages, which one of the three above is rthe most eyecatching increase? The only thing that is constant is change.0 -

Me too.
As it happens I can work out the majority of what I need in my head but if I wanted to discuss the alleged national decline in mathematical skills I'd go off to one of the many teacher bashing threads.0
