bought a packet of mint ones from Tesco yesterday - since when did the packet shrink 25% from 8 biscuits to 6? and 'supposedly' on offer at £1.

    another supermarket ripoff.

All varieties of Coca Cola have gone from 2 litres to 1.75 litres! The offer prices are still the same but notice that Sainsburys have reduced the price from £1.99 to £1.85.

Not too sure if the Coca Cola group will do the same with their non Coke ranges like Sprite, Fanta etc.

I buy cans over bottles as I live alone and the drink in bottles goes flat quickly.

At least they aren't hiding the change like the majority of companies - there are half a dozen billboards round where I live promoting the "exciting development" that, if I drank Coke, I could pay the same (or more likely more) for less.

    All publicity is good publicity?

Does anyone else vote with their feet and just not buy shrunken products when the change registers?

Just grabbed a crunchy bar from fridge and noticed that the bars have shrunk yet again.

It seems to be happening with so many food items and tends to happen when packaging has been redesigned. The problem is becoming so widespread that I am finding it difficult to keep up.

I think its time to get the regulator involved as it's now getting out of hand and I feel I am constantly being manipulated.

When buying a product I have to compare prices against weight as buying an individual item can work out cheaper than a buy one get one free.

I saw some Twirl multi-packs in a local shop yesterday - now 3-packs, rather than 4-packs, at the same £1 'special' offer :(

The government could solve this shrinkage problem overnight if it so chose. Petrol has to be priced by the litre. Food could be treated the same way i.e. sold only in certain sizes maybe 50g 100g 250g 500g 750g and 1kg. Similarly liquids in volumes of 50ml 100ml 250ml 500ml 1 litre and 2 litres.

Stupid misleading in-between random sizes would be made illegal. Problem solved. Long-term price comparison would then be easy.

Martin could make this his next mission ;-)

Yep 4pk Crunchie in Asda - was 160g, now 128g  Don't know about you but a 32g chocolate bar has a life expectancy of about 0.2seconds in mine and the kids' lunchboxes, so I didn't bother!

Still £1 on special though... so effectively a 25% price increase per gram.
Thanks Cadburys/Kraft/whatever the hell you're called these days!
