Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Willie Rennie said the UK Government’s scheme will not affect the universal service.

“What this does is bring more money into the Royal Mail,” he told the BBC’s Sunday Politics.

“For years under Labour thousands of jobs were lost, many sub post offices closed. We stopped that decline, we’ve protected sub post offices, we’re investing in Royal Mail through this process.

“This will be good for Royal Mail. It will make it flourish.”

    Dont worry,Libdems have it covered................

If we compare ourselves with others we can make ourselves look underpaid or overpaid. Compared to Bankers/Politicians we are all underpaid. Compared to the people who make our clothes for 20p an hour we are all overpaid. The only meaningful comparison is with the national median average wage.
Compared to Bankers and Politicians EVERYBODY is underpaid!!!!!

How many? What roles are they actually doing?

    The speaker gets the same.

  • I would avoid any investment in this mess, simply because it's run by management without any clue how to run the business.

Not many then and not much clue. This is any generic headteacher then.

Less than 200 and more than 3000 maintained schools.

More than half of those falling into the highest salary range are from the Government’s flagship academies, which are run free of local council control, allowing them to shun national rules on pay.

Just what the government wants rewarding hard work apparently.

Why angst I would have thought you would celebrate success.

Potential dividend of 6.6%, but this could be offset by V.A.T. changes - risky.

Major issues with employee relations - risky.

Trying to expand Parcelforce into a very mature market - risky.

Ongoing relationship with Post Office - not sure.

Profit margin - can't read the accounts where I am just now.

Revenue from stamp-based sales - under political control.

Guaranteed 3-year pay increase to staff - risky for profit margins.

So, taking all that into consideration, and looking at my previous investments, I'll almost certainly be having a wee punt! :)

Yes, presumably thats why Charlies letters to the Government are censored, because the Windsors can't be seen to get involved in politics

Had a quick look at the IPO, I ask the question would you go into a shop and give them £750 for some items and then AFTERWARDS, when they have got your money, they tell you how many items you`re getting and how much they are each
    NO.
