  • PLEASE someone tell me a child specialist wasnt trying to make your little one thinner/lighter by limiting food........at 4 months of age.

Thank goodness you are a sensible mum....

I am flabbergasted by that thought

We actually saw a paed, she commented on trying to make her go longer between feeds for her weight, but I'm firstly not gonna let her scream for food and secondly she doesn't over eat, often just taking 5-6 ounces...not like she's draining 8 ounces each feed. I did say, well she's long so surely that accounts for some of her weight and that she was following the same trend in that respect.
Lo was lying quite content when measured but I might try to check tomorrow.

My husband was average height as a kid - shot up in his teens and kept going longer than lots - stopped at 6 foot 7 where he regularly bangs his head off doorways and lampshades.

I had a friend like that. I have always been short, but when I was 16 and he was 15, I was taller than him. I didn't see him for 2 years, when I did again, he was more than a head taller than me...I'm still the same height than I was then, he's grown to be 6'5''. Thank God I never teased him!!!
  • Please don't worry about your lo growing to be very very very tall - from observation it may make sorting clothes a bit trickier but you have that in hand at the moment.
Being taken for a lot older when she's still little is harder to reassure you on - but right now, if anyone who matters says anything, you can correct their age assumption. In a few years, she'll be able to tell them herself!
As for feeding? You've decided not to - well done! On the subject of your lo *you* are the expert, not some paed.
  • I had a health visitor accuse me of lying over one of mine's ages because of how long she is. Was adamant I'd got her date of birth wrong - I'm like, "Think I would remember love."

We see a dietician because not-so-mini-Miss has allergy issues and her comment was along the lines of "flipping heck she's tall... oh wait looking at her book she's completely in proportion... what a lovely smiler she is" and nothing more said about it!
Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!
