TopCashBack Plus - warning

I don't know where to post this so feel free to move it.
I have just noticed my TCB account has been automatically upgraded to a PLUS account and they are now going to deduct £5 per year from my earnings. It would appear there is no way to downgrade back to the CLASSIC account that I had previously.
I know there was a free 3 month trial of the PLUS a/c but assumed my account would remain the same unless I opted in. I was wrong and now I'm stuck with it unless I can get them to change it.
Check your account now and see if yours is the same.

Thanks for the warning.
I just checked mine and my 'free upgrade' doesn't end for a couple of weeks so the system allowed me to 'downgrade' to the non fee paying account.0 -
Mine is still 'classic', with a button to click to upgrade to 'plus' if I wish (I don't). I didn't choose to have the free trial. If you had the free trial, maybe you were supposed to do something to opt out at the end of that if you wished?0

As said. TCB(IME) offered a trial of Plus
So you must have selected that
I,like the others didnt and so are still on the basic free version0 -
Thanks OP for that I have just logged on and it gave me the option to downgrade so have done it:j Claimed £6400 PPI some more to go :j0

I got caught out with this also but downgraded 3 days after my free trial had ended and the £5 was cancelled.0
-
When they brought this in you could choose to upgrade, stay as you are or take the free three month trial.
They did state that at the end of the trial you could opt out again.
I made a note of the date three months ahead and downgraded on that date with no problems.0 -
Thanks op, I'd inadvertently clicked on this in June, so only had 10 days left to be able to cancel.
I hadn't realised what it was at the time, or how to stop it and would have had a real shock if I hadn't seen your warning (though I think alot of people will miss this now it has been moved)
Okay, I know it isn't a grabbit but that is where most people look first0 -
Thanks for this. After reading I checked and had gone over by 3 days but it still gave me the option to downgrade.0
-
I am confused - surely it is worth it for the 5% increment instead of the 1% on the classic. Am I missing something?
Thanks.Smoke Free since 1 January 20130
