Do they say on them. PENALTY CHARGE NOTICE or FIXED PENALTY NOTICE and NOT parking charge notice.
do they mention the traffic management act 2004.
You are going to have to wise up very quickly to the difference.
A Fixed Penalty notice or penalty charge notice are real parking tickets issued under the traffic management act 2004 and some still under old legislation.
A parking charge notice is a fake ticket issued by parking scammers/ ex-clampers pretending to be the real council ones to scam money.
One called parking charge notice is a fake by a private company that can only try it's hand at a county court and many even fake that with stooges.
The Penalty Charge notice one is from a council who can instruct bailiffs to take the car and sell it.
You must very quickly work out which it is, if you are confused ask a friend for help working it out.
Only if the matter has been heard in court.0 -
ok I got the notice with me, based on the reference numbers they supplied I can't link these to the 2 parking "fines"/"notices"/"charges" I can get my hands on.
So the Final Notice goes as follows:
Their headed paper and the 6 reference numbers written in pen.
"Date :" and "To:" my details... well name and 1st line address.
next field - Re: Parking (something illegible) (PNC)x6, followed by an arrears field with the six amounts.
A big Final Notice pre-printed and the field for signature blank.0 -
@OP, you need to urgently find out whether Andrew James Enforcement are acting as bailiffs or debt collectors in this case, and for whom they are acting.Only if the matter has been heard in court.
@Guest101; Please stop muddying the issue - you've already assumed that this is a PPC when the OP hasn't provided enough information for us to know, and the OP has said that someone visited his house, so there is a chance that the matter has already been heard in court - a quick Google search will tell you that Andrew James Enforcement act as bailiffs.0 -
because I can't link any paperwork to this notice I dont' know who they came from.0

You could try ringing them and just ask for the name of the client...:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)

nope just what I said is written on the notice, I could ring them but i would prefer things in writing for my own records not a scribbled Final Notice.0

You must call them and ask if they are acting as a bailiff, or as a debt collector, in your specific case - and make sure you are absolutely certain of this fact. This will affect how you proceed. You should also, regardless, ask for the name of their client. Don't get hung up on having these small details in writing - it doesn't change anything, so write it down yourself.
Even a PPC could employ a bailiff for enforcement, if they have won in court by default. Given that your wife 'forgot' to tell you about the parking tickets, we don't know whether she has also ignored court papers.0 -
I'll give them a call today soon as I'm away from desk (I can use emails/internet but can't ring out!! strange place I work in lol!)0

To be honest I would have spotted Court papers but even she doesn't know where the 6 have come from.
