other half has picked up parking fines and "forgot" to tell me as she knew I'd give her a lecture!
anyway a collection team visited with a final notice - also first otherwise I would have spotted the parking fines before.
It's unsigned but I dont' care about that, according to them there's 6 accounts I know of 2, what letter do i send to them to say woah!!
they want £800!
they've listed 6 reference numbers none match to the 2 fines the wife managed to "retrieve" when I asked about it.
can i just write to them for details as 6 is quite a difference from 2 I know of.
also posted on other thread, didn't know this board existed!
Whoa, stop a second, who visited you????
And what did you say to them, i hope it ended with the word 'off'.
Anyway, im presuming the court process hasnt started yet, it could be an idea to name yurself as the driver and reset the process?0 -

These arent fines, only a court can fine you, these are invoices. You do have to defend them, but no dont ask for proof yet.0 -
Who gave her these fines ?
A council or a tin pot private parking scam company .
It is very important you find out WHO issued them.Be happy...;)0 -
Andrew James Enforcement visited.
The only paperwork i can find in the house are the 2 that belong to a council car park, so they're definitely legit. she (wife) said she just completely forgot (they were close together so got put to one side... hmmm)
I'm in work so they posted a final notice leaflet thing with 6 reference numbers, with amounts due of 3 x £220 and 3 x £170.
They're in my name so I could go back and say it wasn't me as I don't drive, car is in my name though.
I was going to ask them to send me documentation/breakdown of costs as I've never received anything from them before.0 -
Ideally I want to get something out in post today to these guys.0

You still need to know who issued the charges. You can ignore the bailiff they'll give up eventually and return the debt back to the creditor and you can then deal with the creditor. There is no need to communicate with the bailiff.ArseandElbow wrote: »Ideally I want to get something out in post today to these guys.
By the sounds of it it was a council and these are not fines.
They are penalty charges. Which council issued them?:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

these tickets, are you assuming they are from a council car park ?
Do they say on them. PENALTY CHARGE NOTICE or FIXED PENALTY NOTICE and NOT parking charge notice.
do they mention the traffic management act 2004.
You are going to have to wise up very quickly to the difference.
A Fixed Penalty notice or penalty charge notice are real parking tickets issued under the traffic management act 2004 and some still under old legislation.
A parking charge notice is a fake ticket issued by parking scammers/ ex-clampers pretending to be the real council ones to scam money.
One called parking charge notice is a fake by a private company that can only try it's hand at a county court and many even fake that with stooges.
The Penalty Charge notice one is from a council who can instruct bailiffs to take the car and sell it.
You must very quickly work out which it is, if you are confused ask a friend for help working it out.Be happy...;)0
