Took 4 months to exchange - buyer now wants a 2nd viewing!!!!

Our buyer viewed only once and made an offer. We then took 4 months to exchange (which was last week).
Now I've just heard they want a 2nd viewing. Now I don't mind as they are perfectly entitled to but just wish it could've been before we exchanged as now I have boxes everywhere and repaintng walls where we've been making good.
I will tidy up best I can but I assume they'll be expecting things like this?

Now that you have exchanged, it's academic what your house looks like!
They probably want to measure for curtains, new carpets, check layout of furniture etc. not uncommon.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -

Hardly surprising they want a second viewing - they probably want to measure up for furniture.
Four months to exchange? I've just exchanged and it took two months, which was long enough! Why did it take so long?0 -
What kind of mess do you mean? the house should be empty when they move, save for what is included in the sale.
If it's dirty/dusty/messy this is what you expect when you move house!Thinking critically since 1996....0 -

Yes, 2nd viewing is about measuring up and reminding themselves what it looks like..... you've exchanged, they can't change their mind.
Don't worry about the mess/boxes..... that'll get them excited as they'll be imagining themselves packing and unpacking shortly.0 -
I wouldn't worry, as you've exchanged. Like others have said its probably to measure up for curtains etc, And your buyer may just need a reminder of what's what etc.
Most people's houses in the period between exchange and completion are not in showhouse condition so I wouldn't worry needlessly.0 -
The house wont be a mess when we leave, it'll be clean and tidy - just as I would wish to find it.
It's just that now we've exchanged, I've started to pack things away and I have those wardrobe type boxes now being stored in a couple of rooms, paintings have been bubble wrapped etc and this weekend we removed a couple of things of the wall, we've now made good and I'm painting.
I know it's expected but I just thought it may have happened before exchanging.
I wanted to exchange before making good and packing (tempting fate and all that), but I know that my vendor was pretty much packed before exchange!0 -
I am in the process of buying, waiting for solicitors to do what they have to etc.
I would want a second viewing after exchange as well, and am going to ask for one but wouldnt be worried if it was messy with boxes and half packed items. I just want to have a look at it again to remind myself what it looks like and to measure up for furniture, curtains and to have a think about where I want all my furniture to go so I can tell the removals people.
I also wouldnt care if it was dusty, not sparkly clean as i would be getting in a cleaning co to do all the main rooms (kitchen, bathrooms) just after I moved in.
Dont worry, if anything like me, I would be too excited at the thought of moving to notice your mess/clutter/half-filled boxes that go with starting to move house.
I am sure it is the same and nothing sinister.0 -
