  • Morning :)

What a dull, dull day outside, why does it always seem to come back to the Wintry weather so soon? The Summer seems to have come and gone so quickly.

So today I need to get some more Groceries; debating whether to walk to the local shops or just go to Tesco.
After work this afternoon I'm out for a walk with my friend weather permitting otherwise it will just be coffee and a chat.

I'm thinking Sausages for tea tonight, I like something easy on a Monday as its Yoga night.

Have a happy Monday everyone :)

    Morning :hello:

We pulled up a ton - well ok, 15lb, lol - of carrots yesterday :T All now chopped, blanched and frozen. Timmy feasted on the tops :D

We've had loads of moths in the bathroom lately, this morning there were tiny black wiggly things all over the place - even on the toothbrushes  Dunno how long the eggs had been there _pale_ I only know what they are because of THIS thread. The toothbrushes are soaking in bleach at the moment. I was going to do a steam-clean later in the week, looks like I'll be doing it today *grumbles*

Rain here today, I'll be drying the washing indoors. The heating's not on, but I'll have to use radiator airers. I keep meaning to buy a proper airer but don't get round to it :D When my mum and dad moved house, they couldn't decided on wardrobes so they bought a couple of cheap clothes rails on wheels. They gave them to me not long ago, handy for drying clothes on hangers.

I'm going to cook a gammon today, use some for tea then slice the rest up for sandwiches.

    Morning all,

I'm ashamed to say ive not long got up. I hate Sundays everything that hubby wants/needs to do is on a Sunday as he is working 6 days a week. We have to fit in grocery shopping too and because he is so tired he doesn't get up much before 11. I was making the sandwiches for work/college at 10.30 last night and far too wound up to sleep.

'Youngest' has gone to college today. Its his first day. I hope all goes well for him.

Daughter number 2 went out for a night on the town with the girls on Saturday night leaving Daddy to look after Grandbaby. She was still awake at 6am to do the early morning feed though. :rotfl:

Eldest son had his boys Saturday night whilst the ex went out.

Not heard from son number 2 or Eldest daughter for a day or two. That's my mission of the day.

Anyone got any ideas as to what I can do with 2 5ft planks of wood? House bricks by the multitude ive humanely disposed of but i'm at a loss as what to do with these planks of wood. They have got to go.:D

Ive got plenty of housework to keep me going today seeing as I didn't do any yesterday. I just want to go back to bed.:(

Roast chicken tonight I think. We were going to have it yesterday but plans changed.

Dumpling I hope your tummy bug gets better soon.

Busiscoming2 its hammering it down here.

Right, I had better go, start somewhere though the bed does look like the favoured option right now.

    Have a good day all.

Judi, round here we leave anything useful like your planks outside the back gate - usually gone in 24 hours- otherwise put them on Freecycle as bonfire wood. Somebody took my broken fence panels that way last year.

Hester - thank you for thinking of me. Glad to hear you are driving and cooking but likewise dont do too much x

I cant believe all that has happened in the past week. Yesterday our boy doggy, westie Chay, was put to sleep in my arms as they found a huge tumour on his lungs. He was my doggy but lived with my parents as he was absolutely devoted to my Dad and visa versa. We can't tell Dad yet as the shock would be too much.

Dad is doing ok but Im worried to death about what will happen at home as my Dad is carer to my Mum. I think it is delayed reaction as I feel really sick today. Hugs to those that are poorly x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
  • Molly hugs for you :( sorry to hear Chay is over the rainbow bridge now xxx

Jools and Dumpling feel better soon xxx

Not much to report. Fasting today so tea will be using up chicken breasts that need cooking. Just usual jobs here, house a bomb site after everyone being at home the weekend. Not loads of OS, about to put the BM on for the first time since we moved, HM bread how I have missed thee. I've also got the urge to get back into baking too.
Right better shift my !!!!! as I've got loads of things I've got to do and loads of things I ought to do but that I am avoiding doing :rotfl:

Hugs and spoons all round xx

  • Judi we had some scaffold board left a few years ago when the builders had gone so my late OH nailed two bits of wood 4x2 blocks the width of the board underneath each at each end and we bought four breeze blocks the square ones with holes in a pattern inside and fitted one at each end of the boards inbetween the small bits of 4x2 blocks and used them as spare benches in the garden when we had visitors at a BBQ.very useful as when BBQ was over we just took the breeze blocks out and stored them and the planks of wood in the shed.We used them for years and eventually when we moved and downsized we gave them to our buyer who was quite pleased to have them
  • Had a nice swim and it was lovely not to be fighting children for some space in the pool as they are all back to school.Just going to have lunch and do a bit of knitting and watch Doctors then its off to pick the little fellow up from school. The day just whizzs by
    Cheers chums

  • Allegedly we should have had occasional showers today, but not solid rain, so far it's !!!!!! down all day.
My helper has finished and left, not very OS, but I couldn't stand the dust & dirt any longer and I would have ended up overdoing it. I'm just left with a pile of carp on the table that needs sorting, at least I can sit down and do that.
I've finally worked up the enthusiasm to start another baby blanket and I've started to get a fit of the giggles when I can't get the top of a bottle or jar, instead of dissolving in tears, so I must be on the mend.
Molly, make sure you don't overdo it either, I hope the situation with your mum can be resolved.
    Hugs Hester
