This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good morning everyone
Can't believe it is Monday morning already but I managed to get some ebay listing done yesterday and already have bids on 2 items.
Still no real plan of what to do about work. Have seen some questions from the other employee reps over the weekend, so we need to sit down and finalise these for submission today. The scheme is down as a proposal but we are all pretty sure it will happen whatever our objections. Everything we have taken to the table so far has been rejected so doubt that's going to change now but we must do our best for all of the staff.
Ended up having a very naughty Indian takeaway last night so dinner for tonight is the lemon chicken and peppers that we were supposed to eat. Greek salad for lunch.
Better get a move on so will leave with usual well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for anyone who needs or just wants them. Keep well and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Morning TTFM and all who cross/follow
Molly, I hope everything is ok with you and your parents.
I've been up since 4:45 thanks to next door making a racket, just had a glass of water but will make a cuppa soon for me & hubby. I haven't fed the fish yet, they are all asleep as I haven't put the light on yet.
Plans for today include 2 loads of washing and some ironing. I have someone coming in later today to give me a hand cleaning the floors, stuff I can't manage on my own. I also need to phone BT, I had my phone line checked y'day and the fault is not in my house as BT claim.
Time I went for a wander through the forums, I need to find out if I can claim my winter fuel allowance even though I've deferred my pension.
Have a good day everyone.

- Top up shop - tinned fruit + cat food, salad
- Into town for lunch
- Take ironing to ironing lady

Not Buying It in 20150 -
Good morning everyone another week dawns and its almost mid-September.Christmas stuff is in the shops but I'm not tempted to buy just yet.Today after the school run I am going for a swim in the local baths.being slightly older
:) I get it free,so thats welcome. Then its check Dds dogs are ok and let them out for a comfort trip to the garden
:) then home for lunch.Looking out of the window I think there is some rain on the way as the sunrise was glorious this morning but a bit too bright IYSWIM, and now its clouding up fairly quickly.
Right I'm off to have my scrambled egg for breakfast then school run for youngest DGS Mikey
Have a good day what ever you are doing
Cheers chums JackieO xxx0 -
Morning all,
Chilly here too, have resorted to a jumper and socks for the forst time in months.
Work today, so a quick easy dinner of jacket spuds with chilli for OH and ham / cheese for me, dd will have some pasta as she does not like jackets.
Quick tidy round this morning before I go and then shove a wash on tonight when I get home will have to do.
Have good days all xx0 -
Good morning everyone :j
I've been up since 2:15 when the world fell out of my bottom  TMI I know. I've taken some imodium and had a couple of cups of tea and now I feel a lot better but I'm going to try and catch up on some sleep once the girls have gone to school. It's their first day back and I had so many plans but never mind, I'll just do what I can today, there's always going to be tomorrow.:)
It's certainly colder this morning but nice and dry so the girls won't have to carry their coats to school. they have enough stuff to take as it is. Never mind, their packed lunches are made up and ready but I need to have a think about what they can have in their lunches apart from rolls or pasta salad. At the moment we have muffins from Approved Food but I would prefer they took something healthier and that was going to fill them up more.
Eldest DD has her driving leson today but I'm not going to be looking after my grandson today as his dad wanted to spend some more time with him. I'm going to miss my little companion, we normally cwtch up on the sofa and watch Peppa pig until he falls asleep on me but never mind, as I said, I need sleep today!:D
Dinner tonight is leftover beef from yesterday made into a beef and vegetable curry. I've cheated and bought a Sharwood's sauce despite having a cupboard full of spices. I think I shall be stripped of my OS badge :rotfl::rotfl: Even worse, the girls are having meatballs from a tin. They just don't like my hm ones so I've given up for now.
Hope everyone manages to have a great day today despite it being Monday. Gentle hugs for all who would like one.
Take care
Cheers m'dears x0 -
Morning everyone
Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x
Bright and sunny but a real nip in the air here this morning.
DH up and off to work stupid early.
Dinner yesterday was omlettes, either cheese, smoked sausage, mushrooms, new potatoes and salad. Tonight we will be having pork chops, pots/mash, veg and gravy.
Had a lovely weekend away, rained Friday afternoon/evening, but then was beautiful and very warm Saturday and Sunday, we walked into town from the site on Saturday had a nice browse and then lunch in a pub, walked back to the site and sat outside in the sun before getting ready to go to the function in the evening. Was an excellent meal and good company.
Back to work today - no doubt a manic Monday and we're still missing some staff. Can only do the best you can do.
Will be trying to do a bit of meal planning over the next few days as don't really have a plan - which I don't feel very comfortable with.
Keep safe and well x

morning all from a gloomy corner of Kent this morning, hope it brightens up as washing in machine.
have been listing loads of stuff on gumtree, had a couple of emails, one wants me to post and pay through paypal, I really only wanted to sell locally so must decide whether to go ahead
meals planned for the next two weeks so need to shop for fresh stuff to make them
plan to go away in our caravan next weekend, possibly last trip of year? near the river so should be nice, will take something warming to eat I think!
hugs to those who need them, my thoughts are with you
has anyone ever tried peg loom weaving, saw it on a blog and thought I might get DH to make me a loom, I cant knit despite several attempts and now have arthritic thumbs and it hurts to grip the needles
have a good day allCarolbee0 -
Morning all
Getting ready for work. Feels like it was only yesterday I was there, doesn't feel like I've had 2 days off! I have Thursday off this week as I am supposed to be working Saturday, but I managed to get that off!
Need to try and finish early next Tuesday, but it's unlikely. Its BF's brother's 30th birthday and their mum is cooking a dinner. I don't want them to be waiting for me in order to eat, since I wouldn't get there till about 8.30, but it's highly unlikely I'll be able to finish early. We'll see though.
Had a lovely tea last night - steak, chips and garlic bread. Don't know what I'll be having tonight. BF's band will be round - they practice in our spare room, which has been transformed into BF's music room.
Have a good day all!the only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j0 -
Morning all,
wet and gloomy here - yuk.
Yesterday we went to see a dog that needs homing - a spritely little gentleman with lots of personality. Sadly, he has more needs than we can meet: I don't think we are right for him.
Today I need to catch up with the unfinished jobs that are bugging me. I also need to make up my rubber chicken meals as I just cooked the meat yesterday.
Have a good day all xI can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0
