Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week or getting motivated when it comes to housework then come and join us.

Thank you to Natty for last weeks thread

Still going with the new style this week, which works on how much time and motivation you have. The idea is that even if you are really busy you don't need to fall off the wagon!

Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up

These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.

Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.

A few of the basics before we start the week

Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!

Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.

Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.

Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.

Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis

HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!

Click here to read Toots wonderful welcome guide

Monday - Kitchen
15 Minutes..

Wipe out the fridge, note what needs using up or restocking
30 minutes to spare..
Sweep and mop the floor
Wash out the washing machine drawer
Got an hour...
Wipe the surfaces, removing things which don't belong here as you go
Are the spiders coming in from the cold, go on a cobweb hunt

Extra challenge:
Choose your messiest drawer and give it a good tidy, wipe out if you have the time
Renew library books, fill in that form you've been meaning too, check for birthdays in the next few weeks.

Tuesday - Living Room, Hall and downstairs loos
15 Minutes..

15 minutes tidying, putting away or sorting a pile in the corner
30 minutes to spare..
Hoover the floor
Wipe mug rings and sticky finger prints away, wipe the remote control
Got an hour...
Sort out a cupboard in one of these areas
Clean the toilet and sink
Work on that paperwork mountain with 15 minutes shredding, filing, recyling etc

Extra challenge:
Locate wellies and waterproofs, check they fit
Change pet bedding, they will be spending even more time in them now the weather is turning
Check the prices of logs, oil, coal etc and place your order before the rush

Wednesday - In memory of our dear friend Toots
15 minutes ......

make contact with somebody you have been meaning to email/text/phone or visit
30 minutes to spare........
write your Toots list if you don't have one or if you do complete one item from it
Got an hour .........
Then it's me time, life is too short, when our final day comes we will all still have a 'to do list' so do something you enjoy for an hour

Thursday - Bathroom and study
15 minutes...

Clean the toilet, sink and bath
30 minutes to spare..
Wipe the window ledge
Clear your desk, dust/wipe it clean and replace just what should be on it
Got an hour...
Hoover/mop floor
Descale the shower or bath screen/tiles
Dust up high, being careful not to injury yourself

Extra challenge:
Check doors for draughts and fix as required
Delete some emails/favourites/old documents
Check renewal dates for Driving License/home insurance/passports/MoT/tax etc

Friday - Bedroom, you choose which one
15 Minutes..

Strip the bedding and remake with fresh linen
30 minutes to spare..
Hoover right into the corners and under the bed if you can
Clean a window or two
Got an hour...
Dust the light shades
Do you have a bedroom hotspot - deal with it
So which summer clothes did you not wear despite the wonderful weather? Is it time to let go of them?

Extra challenge:
Locate your winter woolies, do they need debobbling
Gales forcast from Sunday onward so put away anything outside which could be blown around
The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair

Welcome to the FLYLADY ME MOUNTAIN CHALLENGE!

We flyladies as signed below do hereby pledge to attempt to improve ourselves / our souls / our outlook (delete as appropriate) in our own personal challenge. There is no such thing as failure, god loves a tryer, and (apparently) you get out of life what you put in! So here goes, and throwing the gauntlet down is:
I'm assigning one star for getting off the starting block, two for greater effort, and three for really digging your heels in - feel free to tell me how many stars you think for the week - I will keep a track of the weeks too!

Honey Bear : to continue her novel begun in 2011 by writing chapters 9, 10, 11 & 12
bossymoo: to start the couch to 5k programme. And stick to it!
decogecko: to go to the cinema, on Thursday, alone, and enjoy the film
Natty68: continue weekly gym & spa visit and no backing out!
Dustykitten: to do 15 minutes exercise everyday and start looking for a Yoga/Pilates class to join
Mumto5: also couch to 5k - you go girl
Mummyof5: to do all physio exercises, even if they hurt at the time - ouch
mummyroysof3: to study on 4/5 days while the kids are at school as I have an ema then start my first level 3 straight after
funfairprincess: something to do with your dance class???
Skint breeder 5: the ultimate workout and to drop 14lb by end of year!
Lamewolf: to make time for pampering including using lotions and potions and showing off the contents off the jewellery box!
Rebeccaharris31: to get the finances organised
mrs-moneypenny: to sort out the craft supplies and do 15min exercise each weekday
Kaz2904:will have the house carpeted by DS's birthday on 19th December
cyclingyorkie: more cycling to swimming! Or maybe a triathlon ;)
Ionafan: to sign up for a regular weekly slimming class with DH and to cook meals for us both that help lose at least 5 kg by my birthday on 27th November
kerri-dfw:to sort out the online craft shop and get it up and running again
Froddington: another couch to 5k hurrah!
FurryBeastOz: couch to 5k and perfume & pampering!
Jazee: to practise piano for at least 15 mins daily Mon - Fri
Katiecat: to do more exercise and be lighter by the end of the year!

If you would like to join us in the hall of fame (shame? ;0) please pm me and I will add you to the list. Each Sunday I will update with any progress, so please keep us posted! No challenge is to large or too small, and for some of us, just signing up to a challenge is a little victory all in itself. Don't be shy! If you think you don't have time for the challenge, maybe the challenge could be to make some time for YOU!

ETA: Recently "babied" flyladies are exempt, as are those awaiting surgery or coping with any health issues, those caring for poorly loved ones etc.

Two more items listed on the bay of e. One of last week's has an opening bid which is a huge item so whilst not much cash a lot of space will be reclaimed.

DS2 has done most of the washing up (without being asked) so I just need to finish that and start the DW.

DS3 all stuff ready for school and great progress made in his room today.

Just need to send an email now and quickly check my bank accounts then I'm done for the day.

I'm in. Thanks for the new list Dusty.

I've lost 5 hours at A&E with DS3. Crutches again! Third time this year. Torn foot ligaments.

I haven't ironed the uniforms (was going to do it this afternoon). My packed lunch plans need prior perpetration so another fail. DH is back to hospital for an MRI on his bad ear in the morning. He went to bed when we came back from the hospital! I'm too wound up to sleep now. Do I iron now or in the morning?
