Lovefilm end prepay = 15% price increase

For years I have prepaid with Lovefilm to get a 15% discount (and in the past more than that). Last year I paid £101.90 for two discs at a time unlimited, effectively £8.49-a-month. They have now scrapped prepay meaning that I'll have to fork out £9.99. I might phone and leave at the end of my year, unless they offer me a discount.
Has anyone else got any discounts out of them, or is everyone paying the full prices now?

Many companies offer retention discounts to avoid losing customers so it's worth a try. £1.50 x 12 = £18.00 over the next year.0

I phoned Lovefilm today to say I wanted to leave due to not being offered the discount I have had for years. They offered me two months free (worth £20) to stay, so I accepted that.0

Did you ask a question, answer it and give an update to yourself???0

I went on to LoveFilm last night, thinking of changing to 3 discs and note that the prices have changed, its now £9.99 for 1 disc rather than 2.0

My next payment is due in a couple of days but no one has mentioned anything about an increase. Will check that now. Thanks.0 -
Looks like for new customers or existing customers switching packages at the moment. How soon it will rise for existing customers not seeking to change remains to be seen.
My package would go up £2 per month which is steep, but they've got the monopoly now basically in the rent by post titles market.0 -
I don't suppose it will be long before existing customers are hit with the increase. Think when that happens I will be cancelling my service.
Been with them for a while now and seen most of the old stuff I wanted to watch again. For the odd one or two new releases it will be cheaper for me to go to the local DVD shop or use the Sky store.0 -
IIRC a couple years ago they dropped their prices for the packages without telling existing customers, leaving them on the old prices.
They have the monopoly in the rent-by-post market.0 -
I was thinking of dropping down to unlimited, 1 disc at a time, and taking out a Sky Movies pass through my NowTV box.
With the 1 disc package now priced the same as my 2 disc package I shan't bother.
Shame as Lovefilm often have delayed release on some movies Sky show asap.0
