Rant - Are people really this thick?

The bible tells us to love our neighbours and also to love our enemies; probably because generally they are the same people.
I feel for you OP, yours seem to be getting more doolally-tap with each thread you write about them. Hope they sell up soon and some nice normal folk move in.The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0 -
Fingers crossed they manage to sell their house soon.. and that you don't get even worse people moving in after them!!0

Hi Aileth. I agree with Marisco ^^^ Hopefully they will sell soon and leave you in peace. Starting a fire that close to the property(s) is crazy!0

WOW!
Well they do say you learn something new every day......I had no idea people cut grass with kitchen scissors.
I wish I had the time!"Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?" (Douglas Adams)0 -
I've got a small lawn - went out to buy some hand shears but was overwhelmed by them as none said about cutting grass.... in the end the man in the shop helped a bit and I chose the cheapest/any.... but I was prepared to cut the lawn with scissors if I hadn't understood the shears well enough to buy some. None of the packaging mentioned shears for cutting grass.... so I was unsure.0

I remember my Mum saying she cut the front grass with scissors just after she and my Dad got married as they couldn't afford to buy a lawnmower, but couldn't bear it to let it get overgrown.
It's only a game

I've heard that a way to entertain children during the holidays is to get them cutting the lawn with scissors, after they've painted the patio with water.

I've never heard of adults doing it though. They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.

Our neighbour spray painted his fence quite liberally shall we say and painted my sons slide, shed and the patio in the process
I don't know what he thought was going to happen when he sprayed the top of the fence!
If I had wanted a brown spotted patio slide and shed I would have done it myself!0 -
My kids used to cut our grass with scissors, the incentive to do so was easy, we used to throw their pocket money, all in loose change into the long grass....lol0

Funny you should say that as the neighbour the other side of them painted their fence white and its dripped and dribbled all down their side.
Any who, as I speak there's the knowing bangs of them getting ready to go out and the music, shouting. We've gone through this ritual so much I've gotten twitchy whenever it starts. Ah well, could be worse. At least they didn't burn our house down...
By the way, we aren't curtain twitchers whoever said above. The fence around our garden has about three to four inches in between the slats, so when you're in the garden you can see what everyone is doing, thus scissors. The sun tan lotions were a good 3-4 bottles which got knocked over and went everywhere. They were there got over a week. The fire was quite clearly there as it was a half a foot of charred paper with scorch marks, it had been set fire to, left, and was still there. There are still beer bottles adorning the whole garden from last weeks !!!! up. It's really not hard to notice things about their garden given we are out there a lot (keen gardeners) and the huge fence slats. Hope that clears it up:)
Also, they are not cutting the grass because they can't bear for it to get overgrown as it frequently reaches above knee height with more weed than grass because they ignore it for months abd months. Call me mad, but we notice them because we are so tidy with ours, having that mess ruins it. Can you imagine if we were trying to sell and they had two foot high grass, broken shed, beer bottles everywhere and then a fire on the patio? Nuh-uh!
Like I said, the rest is their business, they can do and doss as they will. I do however consider a line crossed when their ignorance might lead to damaging or destroying my property!0
