Okay we got a lovely parking fine today from a retail park after spending close on £300... why? The car was parked in a disabled bay & did not have a blue badge showing..!! I am disabled under the equality act & DDA & in the process of claiming PIP.. walking with a stick (after 4 recent neurosurgical operations) due to balance issues & the lifelong neuro condition I have. Now do we ignore & hope they take us to court then sue them for discrimination or should we complain to the shop where the money was spent.. or would you contact them about the disability?? p.s UKCPS if you are reading this... you ain't getting a penny no matter what!!!!!!

Go to the shop with your receipt and demand that they cancel this ticket, if they have a Facebook or twitter presence go make complaints there. Ensure that you highlight their Equality Act 2010 breaches if a disabled person.
On ukcps wait until their notice to keeper arrives within 29-56 after the parking event, then make a challenge there, Peter Haswell monitors this website, as the office manager he probably knows who you are so don't ignore this. Just come back here on help with an appeal to popla when they reject your appeal to them. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.

I have actually just fired off an email to the land owners of the retail park (name omitted in the following)::::
I would like to complain regarding our trip to ****** Retail Park today. We parked in one of the disabled bays due to me being classed as disabled under the equality act. I use a walking stick & am unable to walk very far & am currently in the process of PIP (formally DLA) which will entitle me to a blue badge. However, being private land a blue badge is not needed to be displayed as you are probably aware. We spent close on £300 in River Island, (the staff will remember as this was their highest sale today!!). On returning to the car we found a parking fine for £60 raising to £100 if not paid within the stated time limit. I am thoroughly disappointed with this being disabled under law & we shall not be visiting or spending money within **** Retail Park in the future, as shall not other family members & friends who are disgusted by this treatment by (UK CPS Ltd) the firm you allow to fine people for spending their money on your land/in your shops.

Yet another stomach churning incident of trough chomping greed.
UKCPS and Haswell hang your corporate and individual heads in utter shame.
Hopefully Norman Baker will get totally fed up with this spew-inducing PPC business model, and with an election looming, and his own backside to look after, will pull the curtain down on all of your putrid activities - would be a real and certain election winning strategyPlease note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

To be quite honest I am livid & have enough to deal with right now, having been off work for the past 4 months due to 4 neurosurgery operations in that time (last one 5 weeks ago) leaving me disabled for the rest of my life. I have just dealt with Occupation Health who have sent me a copy of their findings that I am unfit for work & stating the equality act will apply to me. I rarely leave the house due to my condition & walking difficulties but had to go & help my son with college clothes. I then travelled round Asda on one of their mobility scooters dosed up with morphine whilst the other family members did the shopping!! If the 'office manager' of this firm is reading I will fight this all the way.. you are out of order & need to train your staff that not all disabled have a blue badge or can't get one until they are in receipt of high rate PIP/DLA, which I soon will be. Just because I am disabled does not mean I shall sit back & take this... let the battle commence!! *takes a deep breath* I hope you or a family member do not have to go from fully active to disabled & face the discrimination you have shown me today... yes hang your head kicking someone when they are down..!0

Was there any indication to the warden that the car was being driven by a person with disabilities? Did you speak to the warden?0

Training their staff is not conducive to the success of their business model. The less they train their [STRIKE]chimps[/STRIKE] staff the more tickets they issue, the more profits they generate for their employers to fund their Carribbean lifestyle, their yachts, their darling daughters' ponies and their Bollinger tipples.
Yep, thats what it's all about, and your average Joe motorist is fleeced to fund it ........ semi-legalised robbery ........ unless you are prepared to fight back - which I think you are

We could see nobody when we looked around as I was ready to confront them.. I think they must hide somewhere as could see nobody etc, we did look. If they were watching they would have been quite able to see myself struggling along with my walking stick from the car to shop, where the staff will verify I was SITTING down with my stick whilst my son & partner shopped.. had a lovely conversation with the shop assistant who commented on my blinged up hospital issued walking stick.... must praise the shop assistant who was lovely, shame the rest of the trip was a nightmare x
EDIT:: Oh yes the sleeves are rolled up.. nothing better to do with my time right now than tackle these pond life

I'm afraid shelly, they wouldn't give a stuff for your stick, and even less for you, especially if they have targets to meet (which many have).
