Some buyers - GRRRR

The auction is a legally binding contract. But it is binding BOTH ways.
The Buyer is legally bound to pay for the item.
The Seller is legally bound to supply the item as per the auction
Once the buyer has paid then they have completed THEIR legally bound actions.
Once the seller supplies as per the auction then they have completed THEIR legally bound actions.
If I pay quickly I'd expect positive feedback saying 'Paid quickly'
You are factually correct with the legally binding contract bit, but unfortunately on eBay it is not enforceable, depsite what their T&C's state. If a buyer don't pay a seller can't really do much except issue a strike. Small Claims Courts cases are VERY rare.
What you seem to be blatently ignoring is the fact that a contract is only completed when BOTH parties have fullfilled their obligations. So why should feedback be left before the transaction is complete?
I refer you to the post i made previously - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=5446720&postcount=18If the seller then sends something not as per the auction then they should get neg feedback.
I agree, but unfortunatley there are too many self-obsessed buyers that believe that it must be the sellers fault if the buyer can not read a description properly. Other sellers have the right to know if the buyer is likely to be awkward, non-communicative or generally a pain.
If ever you decide to start selling and have a few run-ins with the many many idiots that exist on eBay you will understand. As I said, I do not fear a neg for poor service, (my star rating is 4.9, 4.9. 4.8 & 4.8), i fear negs from idiots, and reserve the right to reply as a warning for other sellers. Call it petty, retalitory or whatever, but it is my right, and nobody can force me to do otherwise.the problem with Ebay is that the seller rairly gives feedback until the buyer has left it. So even if you pay right away then you'll be waiting until the item arrives and then you leave feedback before you get it back.
And quite rightly too - for these reasons. Not only am I a powerseller, but I also spend around £500-£750 per month as a buyer, and I don't expect feedback the instant I've paid
Last night I had 18 sales. all but one have now paid, and one has aleady had the cheek to ask where their feedback is.... I suspect I may receive a neutral from them, even though the item was posted about an hour ago first class. The feedback they have left others does not bode well, but they currently have a 100% record over 80 transactions.
1 neg will not affect my 100% record, but will drop them to under 99%. So who will that hurt more? It's amazing how many non-communicative buyers will immediately initiate a mutual feedback withdrawal as soon as you leave a neutral for poor standards of purchasing...<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -

But as a seller, I will not leave feedback until I know that the buyer is happy with their purchase.
...
Buyers need to be made aware of rogue sellers, but at the same time, sellers should know about rogue buyers.
You can disagree with me.I'm open to criticism!
Why will you not leave feedback until you know the buyer is happy with their purchase? What else are you expecting from them? They've paid you, what more do you want?
You are covering your a55, and if you want to thats your choice, but I disagree with you.
If the buyer wasn't happy with the goods, saying they aren't as described and neg'd you, but they paid for the goods, what would you do. From the sounds of things you'd neg back even though as a buyer they had completed their side of the contract. They bid (& buy) based upon the listing, not what they receive.
The Twon.
p.s. Wait until I get stitched up by a buyer, then I'm sure I'll change my mind! :rotfl:0 -

Having paid for a transaction is categorically NOT the end of that transaction. The end occurs only when the buyer is happy.0 -

[lurking ebay buyer here]
As someone who normally only buys on ebay I am not bothered about sellers leaving feedback first. I only leave feedback once I have recieved and checked the item as it does appear to be one of the few weapons i have if i have been ripped off. When cycling, I pay the same road tax as any other zero carbon emission vehicle.0 -

I had a Seller I bought a jacket from just last week. It arrived, screwed up in a ball, wrapped in a bin bag - the postage cost £1.42, she charged £5.
She had left me feedback already, I left her negative, with the details as above.
She then sent an email which said she would refund the £3 but only if I removed the negative feedback first!
She responded beneath my feedback on her page "offered refund but buyer refused", to which I added "TRIED TO BLACKMAIL ME INTO REMOVING NEGATIVE TO GET £3 O/CHARGE BACK".
Other potential buyers should be made aware of what the prospective Seller is up to.0 -

Did you ask her for refund before leaving neg.0 -
No I didn't ask her for anything at all.0
