With the risk of getting my head bitten off - I would never bid on an item where I didn't know what the postal cost was going to be. If you ask and don't get a reply while the auction is live I would take that as a sign that the is not as communicative as I would like and wouldn't bid.0

OK, i`ve now had 3 emails in the space of 3 days...
Getting more aggressive with each one.
The last one involved the F word and was put all in capital letters.
I`m not rising to it, was so tempted to reply but figured I won`t stoop to there level.:rolleyes:Debt Free Jan 2010!(Be happy) the state of your life is nothing more than the state of your mind! X:j0 -
If they have come through the ebay message system, then report them as abusive - if they have come through email, then try their ISP - hotmail, tesco.net etc - they may take action.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0

I believe that as a Buyer, once I have paid for the goods then my side of the contract is complete.
The SELLER *should* leave feedback once goods are paid for. I think that is part of ebays problems at the moment. Sellers are so fearsome of neg feedback that they refuse to leave feedback until feedback has been left for them.
I think that any deal paid via paypal should MAKE the seller leave feedback once the funds are in their account.
That why ebay splits feedback into buyer and seller.
Buyer feedback should always be.
+ = Buyer paid promptly.
n = Buyer paid after period of time
- = Buyer paid only after continual chasing for payment.
Seller feedback should be
+ = Item as described and posted promply
n = Item as described and posted after a period of time.
- = Item not as described / posted only after continual chasing.
Instead people leave
+ = A1 ebayer. a credit to ebay.
n = not happy with seller
- = LIAR CONMAN CHEAT STEALS MONEY
No help to work out what has happend, and after 90 days you can't see what it was they were bidding on.
Ebay should pull its finger out, but it wont. It makes enough money so why bother changing.

You cannot be serious!
I'm not getting into the whole who leaves f/b first as it's been done to death.
Suffice to say "no chance"."There is a light that never goes out"0 -

And thats the problem with Ebay.
the SELLER doesn't want to leave positive feedback UNTIL they have positive feedback from the buyer.
The auction is a legally binding contract. But it is binding BOTH ways.
The Buyer is legally bound to pay for the item.
The Seller is legally bound to supply the item as per the auction.
Once the buyer has paid then they have completed THEIR legally bound actions.
Once the seller supplies as per the auction then they have completed THEIR legally bound actions.
If I pay quickly I'd expect positive feedback saying 'Paid quickly'
If the seller then sends something not as per the auction then they should get neg feedback.
BUT
the problem with Ebay is that the seller rairly gives feedback until the buyer has left it. So even if you pay right away then you'll be waiting until the item arrives and then you leave feedback before you get it back.
The seller should be happy giving feedback when they are paid, NOT when they've received their positive feedback.

A bit off topic.
Had an item finish Wed night at 7.30. Checked to see it at 9.10 and had FIVE invoices from seller. Glad I didnt wait till next morning before having a look.Tempted to send ten back in quick succession asking where my item is.

I'm sorry, Twon, but I have to totally disagree with you.
With ebay, the transaction is complete once the buyer has received the item and is happy with it. There are so many unscrupulous people out there who, once they've received positive feedback, will be tempted to claim the item never arrived or was damaged and generally try and scam the seller.
I mainly buy on ebay, but I do also sell a few things. When I buy, I leave feedback as soon as I receive the item and don't expect feedback from the seller until he knows I'm happy. But as a seller, I will not leave feedback until I know that the buyer is happy with their purchase.
Buyers need to be made aware of rogue sellers, but at the same time, sellers should know about rogue buyers.0
