  • Happy to report three NSD's here!!

Got fuel yesterday and picked up a can of energy drink and a bar of chocolate - thought about it - put them back and just paid for my fuel!!
Yay me!! Thanks to this challenge I'm really finding it so much easier to be conscious of the money I spend on a daily basis!!

Thanks guys and well done on the week so far xxx
:T DEBT FREE AS OF APRIL 2013! :T

  • Good going ^^^^^ I'm dreadful at picking up munchies when fuelling my car, and even worse I just pretend its part of my fuel spend which is budgeted elsewhere.

    Sunday: NsD
    Monday: NSD
    Tuesday: NSD
Wednesday: £5.00 fat club, and £2.50 on cakes for work. I know it seems a bit backwards to be eating cake on a diet but I've lost 1 stone and 1.5 pounds since beginning of August so I'm doing something right!

    £7.50/£15.00

Wednesday - NSD ! Feeling a bit down today but am finally making progress with these NSDs. I also stuck another £6.02 into my clear the OD pot ...

ETA: Just cashed in my YouGov points for a snappy £50! it probably won't get here for a month (they have one month to pay it - in fairness to them!) but am well chuffed!
  • Well the little man and I went to our first musical group today, and although he's still quite young, he was taking it all in (being nosy) but he did enjoy playing with the instruments. This is already paid for.

Also went out for planned lunch. Had a lovely time. Then we came back and had a play. Little man is so close to rolling now, I can't believe how much he has changed and grown. And he seems to be over whatever illness he had.

Sun - out for lunch with hubby and babba. (Joint acc) - didn't go as poorly babba. NSD
Mon - health visitor, meeting at work (free lunch) get little man weighed so NSD. - NSD
Tues - going into town, boots have a special baby event, will try not to spend anything. - £9.63 shampoo and conditioner (3for2) small bag of mixed nuts and bottle of water. 4 birthday cards from next £4 = £13.63
Weds - lunch for friends birthday - £20 - £9.69 lunch, pudding and drink. £1 car parking. £4 into little mans piggy bank. = £14.69
    Thurs - NSD
Fri - Just arranged to see friends, not sure of plans so £10
Sat - £10 just in case.

    Total so far

    £28.32 / £40

And it seems we are having lunch on Friday so will need to be a cheap one.

This has always been my problem but not when buying fuel as I have a budget for fuel. But when popping to the shops for needed groceries i'll add a treat on so it comes out of the grocery budget, then I don't feel like I'm overspending or wasting money, but it isn't a true reflection of my spends. So I've separated out my budgets. And really trying to stick with them.

Wow well done on the weight loss, I really want to do something about my weight since having babba, but as I am still feeding I can't really cut my calories too much.

Congratulations on the YouGov payout, I always start these things with good intentions and then they fall by the wayside. I must try harder. :D

  • Thanks, ETO! It's worked out to roughly 3 a week of about 15 mins each! Not a bad return for my (generally) Baseless opinions hahaha!
  • I've had NSDs all week...but need change for the bus into town tomorrow so had to spend today. £2.25 on a bottle of pink beer....I know I should've bought some household thing and it would've come out of my grocery budget but hey ho...

I'm not counting tomorrow's bus fare as it'll come out of the travel to work budget - essential spending

Isn't it interesting the things we all do to hide our spending - even from ourselves! That's why I've stopped counting petrol and groceries on here as spending - it's too complicated if I get a sneaky bar of choc or bottle of wine to start splitting it out so I don't bother :j
