Idle question - Am I expecting too much here?

Been pondering this and wonder if I'm being unreasonable .....
I do a bit of cleaning a couple of times a month. Hoovering, kitchen, bathroom, dusting etc. Don't get much in £££, but hey, it's a few extra £££ - and I actually work hard for it (batchelors house, go figure)
This week the dog had been poorly - to put it in a tactful way - and I must have spent 30 mins of my usual 2 hours cleaning it up and trying to remove it from inbetween the kitchen floor tiles that haven't been grouted.
I jokingly left a note asking for a bit extra as in my mind I'm supposed to be cleaning, and this was over and above what I do.
Would asking for a little more than usual be cheeky and expecting too much?

Not if you did it within your normal hours, but to be honest I don't think you should be expected to do that at all. Dirty devil.0

If the dog was sick while you were there I'd think of it as within your duties.
If they left it because they knew you were coming then it is above and beyond.
My nan used to clean up before her cleaner came.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
I don't know if you should be asking for more money, but I know you shouldn't be cleaning up dog !!!!!!
Make a point of it and say you don't consider it part of your duties0 -
I actually think I would be delighted to pay someone extra who'd cleared up that kind of mess. Yuk:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

Time will tell whether the person you clean for thinks you have been cheeky and expected too much. Personally I don't think you have been at all. Kudos to you for being able to go near that mess and clean it up. I cant deal with anything like that without feeling mighty _pale_The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. I have two dogs, and one that's gone to the bridge now but was very, very poorly for 9 months before she went, the mess doesn't faze me. I think it's the fact that It REALLY was above and beyond what I normally do that's made me think, hmmmm. If it were me I'd slip in an extra couple of quid, but then again that's probably why I'm poor, lol.
I'll leave it and see what happens. But the outcome may result in my decision whether to carry on or not!
And BTW I couldn't not clean it up as it was by the back door and the dog had been excited that I was coming in and....was jumping up and down in it - ooooer0 -
