    Thanks thumbremote and wealdroam. I know I didn't explain myself very well but I'm glad you 2 knew what I meant. I think I'll just try to fit the new blind myself anyway and leave it at that. I feel bad enough about the blind as it is and even worse after reading most of the replies.

    People don't ask for blinds by cloth width, so it's pretty obvious where the confusion came from.
