Best value is (was) the nexus 4 for £159 brand new from google, but it might have gone oos.
Next best is the 16gb version for £199

You'll have to spend well over £300 to get anything else as good. When you use one, you'll probably stick the iphone in a drawer never to be seen again

I've a Nexus 4 bought it direct from google 6 months ago!
Sim free Runs stock android (no provider junk apps installed!)
Surfing and day to day usage (i.e. no movies or audio playback!) drains the battery in 6-8 hours, But you can leave it with screen off and the battery lasts a good 10h with WiFi on .
You'll probably only get a good 3h-4h if you use it as a mp3 player thought ^_~Laters

No idea, I would assume Nexus 5 should have LTE. But under current spec available online, it won't support UK LTE0
