Pay day in 4 days time, and ..............

I've never looked forward to a pay day so much.

For the first time, in nearly 35 years, nothing from my salary, will be going toward debts.

Congratulations, that must be a nice feeling.

The money which woudl normally be going to service debts, will you be putting it into a savings account instead?

    Some of it, yes.

I didn't go through nearly 5 years of scrimping, to keep on scrimping.

I'm thinking about £200pm into savings, then see what I have left in my current account, after a few months, and maybe put some of that into the savings as well.

If I can have about £2,500 saved, by this time next year, I'll be delighted.

Mind you, I'm also considering overpaying my rent each month, so I can have a couple of rent free months, to coincide with the two CT free months.

As Water Rates are also over 10 months, my household payments, for February and March. would be just £42pm.

I'm sure you are totally over the moon.

Can't wait to reach that point myself!

You are definitely in need of a little treat after all the scrimping !!

  • Beware the belt loosening. Well done by the way, but it's easy to think that you've got more spending power than you have.
  • Thanks for the warning POD, but I've learned my lesson.

    I won't be spending a single penny, that I don't have.

The only spending power I have, is what's in my bank/pocket.

You should be so proud of yourself.

    Hope you enjoy treating yourself.
  • Congratulations and it sounds like you have the right balance of some savings and some spends.
