Hi all
Just playing catch-up – I signed off early yesterday to go and pick blackberries. Very brave of me to go out alone; not even a dog in tow!
Welcome to the new posters – make yourselves at home, this is a lovely place, and very friendly. Hey, they even put up with me!!:rotfl:
Camelot so sorry about your colleague's son. No words I have are really adequate.:(
Molly hoping your Dad continues to improve, Hooray for wonderful hubbies:T – I have one of those, too!
Luxor I'm glad I was lying down when I read your post – the very thought of injecting into one's belly made me go all wobbly! Best of luck with that!:o
Butterfly hope you're feeling a bit better today.:o
Bitsy congrats on finally getting your house move – how does Luna like her new home? If you've got hard water, watch for limescale deposits in your appliances.;) Also, I filter all our drinking water (even the dogs get filtered water) because imho it tastes disgusting straight out of the tap._pale_ We've got one of those Br!ta jugs. You'll probably find you need more soap etc than you've used previously, too. Fwiw, our water is so hard it has tattoos, piercings and a Mohawk!:D
Folks, if I don't post for the next couple of weeks, don't worry about me. We're on holiday for a week from Monday, and when we return Mr LW has the rest of that week off, so my chances to get on MSE will be very, very limited. We're taking the netbook so that I can keep up with my email and keep the money spreadsheets up to date, but I shan't have a lot of chance for anything else.:o Just don't want anyone thinking I've popped my clogs.;)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hello all!
After hearing that it was Camelot's colleague's son who had been found, I had a catch up with the 23 year old DD on FB last night, it was her boyfriend's birthday yesterday and they spent the day at universal "doing" harry potter land, the hulk rides etc. She sent me a photo of the pile of shopping bags rom the labor day sales:eek:
and added that it was only hers, his was bigger:eek::eek::eek: They will need an extra plane, never mind an extra case!!!!! At least they are both safe and well and having fun.
Have just shampooed the hall carpet, the flipping cat has decided outside the bathroom door is an appropriate place for her to poo, instead of her igloo, not amused!
Trying to catch up with my friend, she had some lung tests this morning and needs an operation, will speak to her later to see what's what, am beginning to wonder if we are ever getting some good news!
Right, off to see what else I cam get up to, have a good day all!RIP Iain

Sorry if I made you feel squeamish, it wasn't possible as I couldn't co-ordinate well enough, but the thought is worse than the actual deed as it is virtually painless I promise - I'm a wimp!I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -

Lame Wolf
Have a really good and relaxing holiday.
Went shopping to get dd new shoes ready to start work again. Made about 30 pizza whirls for dds to take to older sister when they drive down today. Have made a huge pot of chunky soup for late lunch as it has been pouring with rain all day.
Not sure what we are having tonight. definitely the rest of the soup and maybe Spanish omelette or fish with baked potato.
DH is scoffing the last of the plum crumble and sorting out the potting shed while I and dd watch telly and stay nice and dry after all the walking round in the rain earlier.
Sending positive vibes to hester, molly, mardatha and monnagran.
Hugs to all"This site is addictive!"

Evening all (or as Sheldon Cooper would call it, Prevening as its not quite evening yet).
Thinking of the family of the poor young man who died. Such pain and sorrow. Camelot your colleague must be going through such mental torture.
Hubby isn't due home till much later tonight. The school he working on is open on Monday and they are nowhere near finished. I'm expecting him back at around 10 which is a 15 hour shift. Its a good job I like my own company.

Evening All
Well I have been told that I have a problem with both feet and it is to do with the metatarsals, big toes and heels, so I have to go back when my toes have finally healed to have orthotics fitted into my day to day trainers. I have been in sandals for the past 15 weeks because of tenderness from the operation. I have to go back to have my dressings changed again in 2 weeks. They have also told me that the nails are growing back so I am really not happy
This afternoon I had to pick up a prescription and had to make an appointment with the asthma nurse as per a letter the surgery sent me and got into a real barney with the receptionist who insisted that I see a certain doctor that I really cannot stand, saying all copd patients have to see him, so I said so why does it say in my letter to see a named nurse or my own gp. I just told her to forget it and that I will not bother seeing anyone  until another receptionist came up and told her that I was indeed told to make an appointment with the nurse or my gp  I got a half hearted apology and I will avoid the old cow if I go in there again.
I am not bothering with the flu jab again this year either, they can get stuffed
And breathe
DD and DS are cleaning the house because DD is having friends over tomorrow, so all I have to do is cook the dinner
I think that I might just go and make a couple of D&DD's apple braids nomnomnomnom
LW have a lovely holiday x xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Butterfly Brain - Don't you just love Doctor's receptionists, they think they rule the world! Hugs to you.
The house offer has gone up by 15K, the EA thinks there is a bit more in there but I will have to wait till Monday now. Been to visit a property for the 2nd time and think I will make an offer when I know what's happening with this one. Took friends and my builder - he was a fantastic help (and knows I will have him do the work!). This is so hard!!
Anyway, no work tonight, going to have a glass of wine and probably fall asleep. Take care. XX0 -
