I regularly see drivers in poor visibility with no lights on and even some at night however I don't base my opinion of a wide and diverse group on the actions of a few.

I never cycle without lights when they're needed but then apparently that's not possible because in this thread no cyclists are getting the message according to you. If you're going to have a confrontational thread title made up of crude generalisations, you shouldn't be surprised that it annoys people. It's tempting to put a thread in the motoring forum titled 'Car drivers still not getting the message' and make similarly daft generalisations to prove that point but I'm not going to be that childish.

The cyclists participating in the motoring/cycling forum sections are unlikely to be the ones cycling without lights so there's little point in a thread such as this aside from bringing up the very tired cyclist vs driver arguments.

^^Yes your'e right. I should of put "Some cyclists still not getting the message" as the title of the thread.

But then (as you also point out), we are not all perfect.

But unlike a motorist doing something daft (and yes, I know there are some), they are less likely to get injured or killed compared to a cyclist. Strangely it seems, cyclists are less likely to get prosecuted than a motorist as well. The above incident suggests that the police simply gave the idiot riding on the motorway some advice rather than a ticket. :huh:
