Resusable nappies question...

Options
I have found some good websites for reusable nappies, and won a bargain on ebay (5 new ones that retail at £15 each for 22 pounds, yay!).

I'm just wondering, can you mix and match reusables? I.e. is it practical to have say 5 each of different brands, or is there a practical reason why not?

Thanks so much, and sorry if its a silly question!

Course you can mix and match types of nappies although you will probably find one particular type you like best.

  • Some Councils offer loan kits for a couple of weeks so you can trial different styles and brands free before you commit to buying them. Some also have cashback schemes which help a little towards the cost. Worth looking into.

I would say definitely don't commit to just one brand. My LO has loads of different ones and I have noticed some worked better than they used to and some don't work as well. They tend to change with your LO as they grow up/out depending on the child :)

  • I used washable nappies for my two children - one of whom was quite chubby as a baby (now ultra-skinny) and the other was very scrawny (now not quite so). Their shapes each suited different styles of nappy. Also as the chubby one neared 9-12 months it was hard work trying to make him fit into the one size nappies (though he slimmed down once he was able to walk and still wore them until he toilet trained). Also, one was a heavy wetter and one wasn't so again suited different styles of nappy. Mix and match is the best way in my opinion.
  • Mix and match is far better. I loved my tots bots bamboozles for night time and days when they were having explosive nappies and the all in one nappies for day times and when they needed something slimmer under their clothes.

Tots bots does have a clearance site on Facebook but not sure how much you save.

Dear Lord, yes you can mix & match - *whatever* works best for you & little coot! I had a half dozen very brightly coloured squares from Australia that were loads of fun for baby clinics...
    Enjoy the variety!

I have been looking into reusables for my baby which is due in February and I am picking up a few every month from different recommended brands. Also keeping my eye out on ebay bargains :D
