P4Parking PCN and TNC Parking Services

Here's an update from a couple of actions I took last week:
- I contacted BPA regarding lack of contact details for P4Parking. They told me to either phone or email them, both details available on their website.
- My dad phoned P4Parking and managed to get an address so a letter has been posted to them notifying them that I'm the driver. We've also emailed them but haven't reviewed a reply.
- I contacted TNC denying all knowledge of the incident and to pass it back to their client but they replied with photographs of the car when the ticket was issued and telling me that they've frozen the case for 24 hours, waiting for me to contact them by phone.
I haven't managed to look into the BPA POC or complaining to the DVLA. Will either of them make this go away or should I contact TNC regarding an appeal?0 -
Can anyone advise on what to do next to resolve this without paying? TNC are the only ones here in contact with me so is it worth going down the DVLA and BPA COP route or shall I just contact TNC to appeal?0

Ignore TNC from here on, they are debt collectors, they have no legal powers to force you to pay them anything.
The only thing you must not ignore is if you are served with a Letter Before County Court Claim (sometimes known as Letter Before Action) - get back if one of those comes through.
You have sent a letter to P4P and an email naming the driver, so you need to wait for them to respond to that. Then into the soft appeal/POPLA route.
We take time to advise the best we can. The DVLA complaint was a very firm recommendation - even the letter is written for you in the link Coupon-mad gave you - it just needs copying and pasting into an email.
It may make the charge go away for you, it may not, but it does add to the pressure on the DVLA to act in these sort of cases, so you do need to help on the wider front if we're helping you on your specific problem. Please send it off. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Thanks for the advice so far.
Apologies for the previous prompt - it was just that TNC gave me 24 hours to respond to their previous email and I wanted some direction.
I have since emailed DVLA who have informed me that the complaint has been passed onto the relevant department.
As for ignoring TNC, I've now received an email from them stating that they could resort to a Doorstep Collection Agent as I have failed to pay or contact them for arranging a payment schedule. My concern is that I haven't been given any opportunity to appeal as P4Parking haven't even contacted me although they've been informed by post and email of my contact details.
I don't like the sound of somebody knocking on my door demanding payment so is it worth contacting TNC to inform them that I'm waiting to appeal?0 -
Nobody will knock on your door - it's an idle threat !0

I'd suggest a slightly different approach with TNC. As they are acting as debt collectors you should tell them that you deny the debt and they should return it to their client P4Parking.
As far as I can see OP you contacted TNC and 'denied all knowledge'.
The advice above is that you need to tell them that you deny the debt, not knowledge of it.0 -

No. they couldn't. Idle threat, seen it before on threads. Ignore them.
Try just searching this forum for the single acronym 'TNC' or the single word 'doorstep' and change the default search to 'show posts' (using the 'search this forum' heading above the threads on page one of the parking forum itself which is always one click away from here of course, see my signature). You will find lots of similar reports about TNC's little lies.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Here are a few updates from actions I took recently:
- Received reply from DVLA asking for more information on the incident which I have replied to.
- Clarified with TNC regarding 'denying the knowledge' of the incident by reiterating that I deny the debt with my reasons.
- TNC treated this as an appeal and sent me a letter saying that they have discussed this with their client, P4Parking, and reject the appeal. The letter also says that I can appeal to POPLA.
- I emailed TNC to ask for a POPLA code as they sent the letter and they emailed back saying that I should phone P4Parking.
- I phoned P4Parking for a POPLA appeal code and they said I wasn't entitled to one as I haven't made an appeal to them. They claimed that my only chance of appeal was when the PCN was served, and I would need to settle this with TNC.
- P4Parking also claimed that they haven't received any communication about the driver of the vehicle although we have emailed, sent a letter and posted the information to them via their online form.
Could you please advise on what to do next? Shall I report this to BPA?0 -
Yes complain to the bpa, enclose copies of whatever you sent and received from them

A quick update on the situation - I haven't received any update from DVLA or the BPA after logging complaints. However, I also haven't heard back from P4Parking either. I occasionally get emails from TNC which go directly to my Junk folder, and I only happened to notice when accidently clicking on the wrong folder. The emails simply state that the matter had to be resolved now but I have continued ignoring them.
I'll still keep an eye out for any communication from P4Parking but am hoping that this has resolved itself.
Thanks for your help0
