Before they tell you war stories they always tell you their age and and medical conditions they have.

And they smell of wee, as well.

Gosh Road Hog, Lord Baltimore and dotdash. How nasty.
I pity you when you grow old, you'll hate yourselves.
Do your parents/ grandparents know you feel this way about them?

Name calling still doesn't win your argument. This thread shows testimony that all ages live in bungalows, not just old people.

I already hate myself, so don't worry about me, I'll survive.

Did I also mention that old people wear cardies, have too much nasal hair and are gin soaked?

Bungalows are fine, they're generally in area's of older people, which may prove a problem, but it's the same as anywhere.

I turned down a gorgeous bungalow a while ago, as it was just out of my price range, and I was 26!

What problems can old people cause??

I am 25 and about to purchase a chalet bungalow :)

Tell me about it, it was lovely and hot yesterday and today it is freezing.

Still, unlike the old fogeys living in their bungalows, I won't be getting a £300 winter fuel allowance.

My parents/ grandparents are dead. I know not just old people live in bungalows as I have one. however I was off work on Wednesday working on the garden as I spoke to 4 of our older neighbours who told my their age and medical history straight away.

Ah yes, that was handy. I bought a chain saw with mine two years ago.

We moved to the bungalow we are in 2 yrs ago and although we made a mistake going for housing association property with communal gardens and are now moving, we are moving to another bungalow. We have had a real problem getting what we want, nice one in a nice area and the prices are definitely higher than houses in the same area. We are buying a 2 bed which needs gutting but the houses are 3 bed and immaculate in the same area for about the same price.

As for the plusses - no stairs (great for my arthritis), less housework, easier to clean without the stairs, easier for furniture to get in and out, rooms more adaptable to changing living conditions (change a bedroom to a dining room if you wish) and usually much smaller gardens which are easier to manage. The biggest plus is you don't end up taking a chance someone moves in next door with 4 or 5 noisy teenagers :rotfl: I love to see my grandkids come but love it more when they finally go home. The other benefit of course is that you are more likely to end up with similar aged and similar like thinking people who are far more likely to like peace and quiet and are independent and no trouble when it comes to discussing joint fence repairs etc. Also heating and property expenses are cheaper (only one storey to look after and heat).

Would never go back to a house now (although hubby misses the stairs and wanted to move back to a house even though his hip and knees are terrible with arthritis;)). I of course won !
