There is no fun in it, unless the other party responds in the desired manner. As a teacher, I soon found out where righteous indignation would take me! :rotfl:
These threads would be a bit dry and dull if there were no moments of humour within them. GM, who gives sound advice on difficult matters, is also very funny when responding to over-dramatized and trivial posts. It's people like him/her who keep these boards alive.
As I hinted before, some posts tend to invite a less serious response, because they reveal prejudice, or seem naïve. "Estate Agent Lied to Me!!!" would be a fairly typical example of what I mean.0 -

I don't think 'winding others up' describes the thread properly. A few people shared a bit of fun with each other and the indignant butted in to express their distaste. If you're not adult enough for the internet, don't use it.You have to be pretty blinkered to not spot Lord Baltimore's amateurish attempts at trolling, as wind ups go he's about as subtle as a kick in the balls
A kick in the balls is something you may one day experience when they drop sinbad. Now stop being tedious grown ups are talking here.Mornië utulië0 -
No need to be like that mate, I wouldn't have mentioned your sub standard trolling of OAPs on a money saving website if I'd known you would get the arse over it.0

I think my wording of the OP invited some humour that was directed at myself in the main and I didn't mind.
The property is not for me, mainly as the layout will not work for our needs (there is only 2 bedrooms), I've not ruled out a bungalow and altered my right move notifications to include them, but this particular one is a no.Tomorrow is the most important thing in life0 -

Aww, me troll and you droll.
For a moment there I thought you were coming over all contrite but it seems the last smart-arse comment has to be reserved for you. But at least the OP wasn't offended....bloolagoon wrote: »I think my wording of the OP invited some humour that was directed at myself in the main and I didn't mind.
Well said bloolagoon; no malice was intended as you know. For what it's worth now, I don't see any problem at all living in a bungalow; they tend to have bigger gardens and nicer neighbours.Mornië utulië0 -
Ah well Bloolagoon the thread was worthwhile in that its expanded your horizons. I hope you find your dream place soon.
Those few trollers who were messing around were not targeting you. They weren't even funny, just nasty. Shame, because without them, it was interesting to hear from so many different people.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Is an actual reaction to my posts, so please don't rely on anything I say.0 -

Gawd, another self-appointed champion of what's right and what's wrong on a forum. Lighten up, you're not the MSE police.Mornië utulië0 -

bloolagoon wrote: »As I have said houses are rare in my preferred area. Phone call from estate agent today that a 4/5 bed bungalow and 2/3 reception room in a lovely location is now on market.
I have never considered a bungalow as only in early 40,s.
Would you consider a bungalow over a house so young. I have never considered pros and cons as believed I am too young.
Why not? It's purely a cultural thing the preference for two or more storey houses in this country.
At the risk of being pedantic, a bungalow is a house, the dictionary definition being a "single-storey house". There's no requirement for a house to have more than one storey.Solar install June 2022, Bath
