Well it's been a busy summer, settling into my new job, a week hols in Spain, 4 days in Lisbon for work and a few other social events
So, I've been missing in action but I'm back now and needing to refocus
Phone line and broadband installed today so expect to see me around a lot!
I am settling into my new job, it's a good team with a nice atmosphere but the job itself is not quite everything I'd hoped for. I think the potential is there though so I need to make it happen - definitely more good than bad :T
My weight has sort of evened out, up and down by the same 4 or 5lbs, and my exercise has been a bit erratic! Did Race for Life with a couple of friends in July but walked most of it!
My really bad area is finances - I've really taken my eye off the ball!
So, need to get back on track in all these areas, here are some plans- Get back to eating well and finally reach and maintain my target weight
- Establish and stick to a regular exercise routine
- Organise finances - and stop spending!
Tonight is all about writing a big to-do-list and starting to tick some off :TSometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
Couple of little jobs done! Have cancelled the extra data off my phone contract now I have wifi and spoken to my landlord about a couple of minor repairs needed in my apartment (I am usually rubbish at getting that sort of stuff sorted
)
Today I need to do a Next return and fill in my pension tracing forms (rubbish at this stuff too). Also check whether I might have a flight delay claim (thanks Martyn :T)
Also on the agenda - eat well and go to the gym!Sometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
Some baby steps today! Did the Next return at lunchtime. Have just filled in the pension tracing form and 2 flight delay compensation forms - not sure if I'm entitled to anything but worth a try! Found envelopes and stamps too, all ready to post tomorrow
Have kept within my clalorie allowance but didn't make the gym!
I've also asked at work about the possibility of a few shifts on the out of hours team, which is paid as overtime. There may be something from the new rota in November so am waiting to hear. However, as it's home working I would need to use my lap top. I've just turned it on for the first time in over 6 months now my wifi is working and it's very slow - so may need to get it looked at!
Lots of other plans floating in my head but baby steps each daySometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
Have been trying to defrag my laptop for the last 2 hours! Now I'm just confused!Sometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0

A simple slot in memory card at about £50-60 might be the answer rather than a whole new laptop. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0

Thanks - I'm not techie so any advise is appreciated :A
I left 'something' running on it this morning recommended on one of the threads on her so I'll see if that helps! As I have a ipad I won't buy a new lap top unless I can get some overtime shifts, and then there may be an option of a loan work lap top so I won't be making any rash purchases - the idea is to make/save money, not spend it!Sometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
 Not normally an in the door and open the wine kind of girl - but sometimes needs must! Suffice to say some people can be a little full of themselves, and the their own importance! Came home from work upset after some harsh comments - but getting over it now, rant over! A wine and pizza evening will help I'm sure!
Anyway, on a more positive note treated myself to a RI cami (£10) and some George boyfriend jeans (£16) at lunchtime. Will have a trying on session as I am only wearing things I love and make me feel good - because I'm worth itI have been following this fab blog http://missionstyleuk.blogspot.co.uk/ for the last few weeks and I really like her style so I'm taking some inspiration from her.
My lap top is still defragging but seems to be running better already (thanks to the advice on here :A) so I'll see how it goes for a while. Don't want to commit money to it unless I have too
Planning to enjoy a lazy evening as I have lots to do tomorrow!Sometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
Congrats on your debt-busting - that's a fab stat to have on your signature.
Your thread caught my eye because of the Cinderella quote as someone burst my bubble recently by asking if the shoe fit Cinderella so perfectly why did it fall off in the first place?0 -

I've just been brave and worked out my actual debt total. The good news is that I've finally passed the half way mark after 5 years of debtbusting whilst still having a life :j
However I amto say that my overall total has only reduced by just over £100 so far this year, as fast as I've been paying it off I've been building it up again, having really taken my eye off the ball
So I'm back in diary land and debt busting in earnest! I will keep up all my payments and then target each debt, one by one, to throw any extra at. I've started with Frasercard as it's both high interest and relatively small!
Alongside this I need to reign in my day-to-day spending, especially on food
It goes without saying - I will still be 'having a life'Sometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0
