2013 - the best version of me!

It seemed appropriate to start a new thread for a new year, but it continues on the same theme, being the best version of me!
A quick summary for any new readers! I am in my 40's and long term single. I live in a rented apartment which I love on the outskirts of the amazing city that is Manchester! I earn an OK salary in a job I mostly like but have spent the last 4 years slowly paying down debts from a massive £30k start!
. However, I have always insisted on 'having a life' whilst paying my debts so I am happy for them to reduce slowly but steadily. I am more sensible with finances now, and save for things like car costs, holidays and Christmas so as to avoid increasing my debt. This is a massive step forward for me!
I've been to the gym this morning, which was hard work after 2 weeks off - and I am ashamed to say I have put 4lbs on
.
I'm not doing the big resolutions thing, as I always fail/give up! I know what my goals are and I intend to keep working towards them in order to be 'the best version of me'

Happy New Year everybody - let's hope 2013 is a good one. I plan to work at making it the best it can be!
Stayed in last night do no hangover here, just one glass of pink bubbles! I plan on an hour of housework (I like to take my decorations down on New Year's Day!), then a run. I am planning to run a 10k with some friends in March and plan to actually train properly for it! Then I might have a quick look in the sales as I've resisted so far and then am at a family party this evening. I also need to keep on track with eating today. I feel better already for eating sensibly yesterday and want to get back on track with my weightloss ASAP!
Last day off 11 off today and as usual I feel I could've achieved more - not wasting time needs to be my manta!Sometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -

Housework done, run done and a little look around the shops
. Nothing really tempted me, just got a bright top for the gym. Need some new trainers too but may get them with some Amazon vouchers I got for Christmas.
Am setting myself a little challenge for January! I aim to exercise 4 times per week and lose at least a pound a week - will weigh in each Friday to check progress. Each week I meet the target I will have a little treat at the weekend - make up, Kindle download etc. (I am also going to try to fund this from Nectar points, Boots points, Amazon vouchers etc)

Back to work today! So far, so good - was in early and it seems fairly quiet so far. Lots of plans about being organised with work stuff this year, concentrating and not getting stressed by it! And leaving on time! See how long that lasts!
Just taken a few minutes for some 'personal admin'! Have sent all this month's payments on internet banking - and it's going to be a very tight month! I have overspent massively in the last few months and really taken my eye off the ball with debt busting!I need to sit down and work out my total but I'm not sure I've actually reduced my debts at all in 2012!

Long day at work as am busy in the run up to an event. However I have managed to stick to sensible eating although gym and running plans have gone out of the window
Also had a couple of online sale treats, a black jacket from Next and some half price shoes from Aldo. A bit naughty I know, total spend of £60!

I'm in a kinda similar position. Having finished my New Year SOA and worked out what payments need to go into what pots, it has left me somewhat skint due to overspending lightly at Christmas. Luckily everything that needs sorting is accounted for, and I have my Christmas money to pay in the bank (always makes me feel like a big kid!) so I will have a few pennies left, and my spending diary will account for what goes where.
Still, the feeling of knowing stuff is sorted is good, even if there isn't much left right now!0
