  • Enjoying the new diary. Hope all goes well.

Just thought - presumably Colin is loving the sold sign as, of course, it was his presence that persuaded the buyers that it was a good place to be?

Selling your house is most definitely not cheating in paying off the debt! I became debt-free with DH's inheritance (and some f&f's) so if your a cheat then so am I (at least i'd be in good company :rotfl:)

Ooh - I'm all in favour of a glass or two of wine but it might be a bit much to drink several wine boxes worth of wine just to be able to use them for packing!!!!:D:rotfl:

Been reading but not posted for ages.

Do you know anyone working in an office/ The boxes photocopier paper comes in is great for books, CD's & DVD's as you can't fill them beyond a weight you can lift. They stack brilliantly too :)

When we cleared out my Mum's place we found a company that work nationwide. They are auctioneers but also do house clearance. They will take EVERYTHING you don't want. The good bit is they come with a removal lorry, review everything and give you a price for what they can sell and then deduct the cost of getting rid of everything else. We were amazed at how much they gave us for the stuff none of us wanted! Let me know if you want their contact details. Think they were in the Midlands and came to Cambridgeshire for us.

And selling up is by no means cheating ;) Your guardian angel seems like quite a character :rotfl:

We used masking tape to close some of the boxes we filled when we moved, easy to write on with a permanent marker. Piq, if you know someone who's moved in the last year, they probably have boxes coming out of their ears still.

Good luck, and keep breathing. Chocolate, alcohol and takeaways are necessary expenditure when you are moving, if only to save your sanity :) .
